- Old cpu
- 250 nit screen 🤮
Newer version with 5850u, 32gb ram and 500nit screen has been about $200 more. Way better specs.
Newer cpus have been releasing on different laptops. Only a matter of time before then come to thinkpads and drive the current versions down in price.

4650u is 2 years old and based on Zen 2. 5000 series are Zen 3. Newest Ryzen are 6000 series and Zen 3+ architecture.
4650u is 6/12 and the one I mentioned is newer and 8/16, plus double the ram and a much better screen.
I personally don't recommend buying new old stuff, especially tech.

Typing on a 2015 Latitude. 'old stuff' should be in context. Is it something that's on ebay used for 2 years? Or a year old processor that's put in a new machine that has a full warranty?
And where did you mention an 8 core? Thought that was Ryzen 7. 8 cores will be throttled anyway.
Zero knowledge of SD cashback, but the racoon-ton is good.
4650u Launch Date: 5/7/2020 (just about 2 years ago)
- Your latitude is fine. You hopefully already had it and didn't just buy a 7 year old laptop. I said I don't recommend buying old tech in new condition… I'll add: unless its really high end and will last. You can search on sd and see there are better products that are newer/better and similar price.
- My first post referenced a much newer and better version of this laptop with a 5850u (8/16) and yes Ryzen 7 Pro.
