This usually pops up every month or two for $30 from eBay. You can even find single use in the $15 range on eBay.
It's the same OPEN BOX, Refurbished T-Mobile branded Asus AC1900/RT-AC68U router that T-Mobile auctioned off to to re-sellers years ago that they're trying to offload.
There's MANY threads that explain how to flash this and add it to your ASUS network to take advantage of the Mesh.
Very troubling to see pics on Amazon of folks getting these T-Mobile routers with dead roaches in them!!
TBH, these USED routers should be $15-20 at this point. They're YEARS old!

That said, this is still my daily driver with ASUS Merlin firmware. I have 1gb Fiber from AT&T and this struggles to keep up usually can't get past about 850-900 Mbps wired speeds. That being said I run some other processes on the device which may take away CPU cycles from the routing of packets. I sacrifice the speed though since the firmware and router are otherwise really good.
It isn't the latest in WiFi so you may top out around 350mbps (that's what I just got on my phone's WiFi speed test). Honestly unless you are doing a lot of very large file copying tasks frequently over WiFi or have a very large number of devices the bandwidth shouldn't be an issue.
Even at $60 it is still a good router, but you should be able to find it for less.
Really this is a great router if you have the need of the alternative firmware.
If it's been updated to a recent version, You can still install the 68u firmware but it's twice as difficult as before. They've been making changes to prevent this, but it's still doable.

the original firmware is abandoned and hasn't been updated in years.
