I think historically, the 93 model (no smart features) is $100 less when on sale. I'd personally pay more for no smart features.

My main complaint was, it took several button presses on the remote or on the monitor itself to simply switch inputs. Press the wrong button, and bam, you're watching some free live TV app which you'll never use. I permanently associate this monitor with Vivek Ramaswamy's dumb face because he was always on TV when accidentally triggering it.

I never once wanted to use the smart features, but I always somehow ended up accidentally opening them.

My monitor did also have one finicky pixel — looked fine when on, but when turning it on initially, it would flicker.
The smart features are garbage. Largest return i've ever returnt.

Why are they so bad? If they were the same price, would it be better to get the one without the smart features?

As long as there are still computer monitors without smart features, I will absolutely REFUSE to buy one with useless smart features. This is TV in my refrigerator level of stupid. Hard pass.

What are some of the key phrases you use to get them to drop the price?

I own this monitor. Running a 5600x, with 7900gre, looks great, no issues. OLED is a huge difference from VA (used to have a 1080p 34 inch curved). Lots of real estate even if you are coming from a 3 monitor set up (basically this monitor is a 27 inch bezel less duel monitor set up). As far as the smart features go, I really don't know what people are complaining about, you can completely ignore the smart monitor if you want, since it being Oled you can keep it running with minimal power consumption. However I do enjoy the smart features. It has airplay, Apple TV, amazon tv, crunchy roll, Disney, etc. and the inbuilt speakers are "good enough" for what it is. Only problem for me is the IO, which has 1 mini hdmi (tf) 1 display port, and 2 thunderbolt ports. No auxiliary or usb ports.

Edit: I payed around 950. This is a great price and I recommend this to anyone who wants a monitor that will suffice for the next 10-20 years (unless some crazy new technology comes out)

I've had this montor for about 3 months now. Overall, the experience has been positive (coming from various non-oled monitors such as TN, VA, IPS) The only issue I have is that the monitor doesn't wake up from sleep correctly sometimes. I don't know if this is a motherboard issue, but for some reason when the monitor goes to sleep and I move my mouse to wake it up, 90% of the time no problem. However, the remaining 10% of the time, there is no response from my keyboard/mouse. I have to wait for something to cycle throught (1 to 2 mins) and then the monitor "recognizes" the inputs and I can log onto to windows again. I don't know if this is a problem only my monitor has, but I have read about similiar issues from others.

If you have never seen a 49incher in person, I highly recommend you find one and view it before buying. Obviously, they are big screens, 🙄 but I'll bet over half of us won't like the experience. I'm trying to think of a use case for this monitor to make it worth it, and I fail. It is super wide and very narrow, and the curve is annoying as he'll imo.

I have two 32-inch monitors. One is curved, and one is not, but both are useful. I have even played with the 34-inchers, and I find those usable. This 49-inch beast I hated and found super annoying. Some will love it, but I really recommend seeing one in person before pulling out your credit card.

I am NOT saying they're bad, at least for some people needs, but imagine replacing your 50-60 inch TV with a 100 inch. The size difference is massive.
