Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED G9 G95SC 240hz curved smart gaming monitor

I purchased the 34" G8 open box excellent a couple months ago, I've been checking periodically to see if I could find an open box excellent G9 and today I found one.

I've had really good luck with Best Buy excellent open box, but I know it's a YMMV kind of thing… this is 53% off the original price, nearly a $1000 discount .

I don't know if they charge extra for shipping these but I'm glad I found one 17 miles away.

It's new everywhere for $1079. The open box I just picked up had 3 hrs of panel time on it per smart things. Saved $220 off the $1079 price

Opened the box, it had the plastic peels still attached, all cables, except power cable still neatly wound perfectly with twist ties indicating they are new and were never used, along with a note about previous return on 10/5"keeps shutting off". Hooked it up, 8 hours of panel display time. I'm no expert, but unless you use a high bandwidth cable (40gbs+), you will get intermittent video blanking similar to perceiving "just shutting off"… looks to me like the first purchaser used their own non-high speed cables, got the intermittent blanking, so returned it, resulting in my gain,

I got a barely used (8 hours) monitor, with peels still on it and cables still unused for $220 less than the $1079 sale price. The $1000 I quoted was from the $1799 price they were selling for before they went on sale for $1079

In any event, I love this monitor. I was going to use a second monitor with it *a 34" but it provides so much screen real estate I don't think I'm going to. This one clean display is all I need, and I'm very happy with the $857 price… Best Buy open box coming through for me again… have saved thousands over the past year or so buying BB open box. Zero regrets.

I will probably use some of the $$ I saved towards the 4 year Best Buy geek squad warranty… the best in the business… any problems whatsoever in 4 years, and they just refund my purchase price along with a prorated warranty refund to a Best Buy gift card, to allow me to purchase a new monitor, or anything else I want. Man, Best Buy always does me right!

Finally, this was the perfect monitor to add to the Alienware 4070i ti deal I got for $920 after all the various discounts and cashback. I feel like that machine + this open box deal = an absolutely killer setup for less than $1800

Open box excellent is currently $1609. Why shouldnt I be happy with $858?
