Once I went 3440x1440 i hated 2560x1440

Ultra wide is made for pc gaming , although it pisses me off skyrim and some street fighter games won't allow UW res and have to revert to 2560x1440 .

This doesn't make sense. Maybe everyone should play at 360p so they use almost no GPU power.
Even an RTX 3090 wouldn't be able to run most modern games at 5160x2160 resolution above 60 FPS high settings

It does make sense though. At that distance, the perceived difference in game between 1440p and 4k is negligible at best. Outside of a video game, like photo/video editing, or software development, that's a very different subject. So 1440p with 120fps feels much better than 4k at 75fps.
There are diminishing returns in both resolution and framerate as you go up. I wouldn't say 1440p to 4k is a negligible increase in image quality. To some people, they'd prefer the hit to performance for visuals.

1440p, that's a shame
4K would be 60hz and barely any different

I appreciate the debate about 4k but can anyone comment on this particular monitor. Also does anyone know if Dell or any other company is going to come out with a monitor in OLED that has higher resolution

Good luck getting 175 fps at 4k outside of esports titles, older games, or stuff like minecraft and robolox.

With DLSS a RTX 3090 only gets around 50-60 fps on Cyberpunk at 4k with max settings and ray tracing. Without DLSS it gets around 20-30 fps. 😂

Even with some older games like Final Fantasy 15 or Deus Ex Mankind Divided that came out 5-6 years ago you still only get around 80-90 fps at 4k max settings on a RTX 3090.

This literally just came out, so folks are just starting to receive the first ones. Almost 0 actual reviews out yet.

You can always buy a 4k OLED TV and use it as a monitor. There are 42" models coming out this year. If that's still too big then LG already released a 27" and 32" 4k 60hz OLED monitor. But they are targeted towards professional content creation and retails for $3,000 and $4,000.

thanks for update—it sounds like this might be on the bleeding edge of technology then. I've been there before. There is no doubt this blue light based OLED seems to be the wave of the future but not every early implementation of a new technology works in practice the way it is supposed to work on the design board. Often it takes a few models to work out all of the bugs that tend to arise when theory is reduced to praxis.

yes I just bought the 55" LG oled in December but if you want to use it for gaming (which I haven't tried yet) you need to buy the C1 model because the A1 will only do 60hz

Early adopter fee will always be a kicker. For what it's worth it's refreshing to have another OLED manufacturer in the space. 3 year burn in warranty from Alienware is pretty aggressive too, I think Samsung's provide a lot of confidence that this implementation will be less susceptible to burn in, although the safeguards are still in play such as pixel shifting.

On something this small, 4k is certainly a waste. But on a 55 inch plus screen it certainly isn't. I myself am a couch gamer. Not really into the mouse keyboard face one foot away from the screen deal. 4k is mandatory.
