Xfinity internet - free upload speed increase YMMV - $0

-7 Deal Score

I have Xfinity internet in the northeast on their cheapest 100x5 plan and yesterday received an email saying they are permanently doubling my upload speeds to 10mbps for free. Check your emails and/or reboot your modems to see if you were given a similar upgrade.

I had been debating getting a more expensive plan just for the extra upload speeds and now I don't have to!

No idea if other plans were given the same upgrade, sorry.

VA here - No email but logged into the account and saw the upload speed specifically listed at 10 Mbps. Thanks for the heads up.

Xfinity is terrible with upload speeds compared to Verizon. They give like 35mbps upload speed on the gigabit plan.

Gigabit Internet Plan
Download speeds: up to 1200 Mbps

Upload speeds: up to 35 Mbps

They'll probably simultaneously announce data caps for the areas they haven't implemented them in yet.

Internet needs to be nationalized. Data caps and speed caps should be illegal.

Folks, no one here is arguing that cable is better than fiber or that Comcast isn't a horrible company. But for those stuck in an area with Xfinity 10up is a significant upgrade from 5up

Yeesh. And I thought I was in rough shape. Still the same shitty upload situation as you, OP, but at least they upgraded the download speed for free as well. Right around 330mbps right now.

If you sign up as a new customer, it's only $30/month for 300mbps, price locked for 2 years, but just a 1 year commitment. Also can get $10/month off if you have xfinity mobile.

I'm no Xfinity defender, but that's a pretty good deal IMO.

They postponed data caps another year. T-mobile 5g home internet is fast in northeast and it has no data cap for $50 month and speed up to 800Mbps Download and 100Mbps upload on N41

$30/mo for 1 year while being locked to 2 years IS NOT A GOOD DEAL

Edit: I see it's only a 1 year commitment with a 30/mo for 2 years if you continue with their service based on what you're saying. However, this does not sound right to me. I think you got it the opposite way.

Either I wrote it poorly or you misread it. The price is locked for 2 years, you only have a 1 year commitment. You can leave after 1 year, but the price won't go up for 2.

It's not the opposite, I've been doing xfinity deals for 20 years. I switch to new customer deals every 2 years or so, even though I haven't moved.

Edit: You updated while I was replying, but here's a snip I took from their site. https://imgur.com/iKm3kW1
