The linked image in the thread, https://i.imgur.com/fC8cVpM.jpg , shows the common example of shoddy Chinese workmanship. The terrible soldering is what stood out to me first.
Did I extensively research this? NO. Am I going to? NO. I just googled Japanese mouse switches vs Chinese mouse switches and this was the first link. But judging by the page of list results, I think there's a good chance this is on point.
