Well, dang. I just checked camels3 and you are exactly right. I'm actually really surprised they are still in stock and just getting posted considering this is the lowest price they have ever been on Amazon.
That being said, random 10-point profile, chill out in general and consider adding relevant information instead of looking for the odd chance of feeling cool because you can make a d*** head comment on Slickdeals. Adding some kind of product insight on build and sound quality on a good deal/product isn't shill. It's why comments exist on these posts.

SlickDeal audiophiles are ruthless, but honestly the cheapest name brand ones you can find. If you're going to skimp anywhere, the speakers should be the last piece to skimp on. Good speakers can last decades, while receivers have electrical parts that can become obsolete and/or fail. Thus it has historically been best to get the speakers right.

That said, Jamo makes solid speakers - especially for the money. They do have a slight tinny sound in the mid/high range, but you have to really be paying attention to such things to notice. And at a sub-$200 price point, what are you expecting? Even adding an amp/receiver and a sub, you're better off with this than going down the soundbar route.

These actually get pretty good reviews for being so cheap. Paired with a cheap receiver these would sound way better then any sound bar. Adding a sub would make a decent little surround system.

yeah the white is even mores stylish (imo). i personally went with black, though, because i plan to buy a subwoofer later, and it probably won't be the jamo one.

Yeah I have this set in white. My only gripe is the floor standing speakers rarely go on sale in white. I ended up picking up the floor standing speakers in walnut and moving the white 803s to my desktop setup

what would be a decent a/v receiver and 8" or 12" sub?

I would personally watch Craigslist and offerup myself. I've picked up lots of receivers and subs for super cheap. Of course now is not the best time but there's still deals out there. I just snagged a beautiful Onkyo TX-NR676 yesterday. Denon, Onkyo and Yamaha all make inexpensive 5.1 receivers but they're charging top dollar right now for new ones.

This is a fantastic deal. Probably one of the better ones I've seen on here lately. I doubt it will last long at this price. If I needed a basic, well reviewed 5 speaker system, this would be a no brainer. I have owned the Jamo S809 towers and they were an amazing value (I got them on super sale for $200). If this deal had popped up sooner, I would have have kept the S809 towers and had all Jamo in my theater setup. I have higher end stuff I've invested in now but this price is an amazing value for what you get.
The S809 towers are from the same series. Things to note:
- quality is solid. They are attractive speakers. I was not blown away by the vinyl job on them as the edges were not totally covered but you had to be looking for it to notice.
- The grill cloth choice they make is excellent and adds to the appeal of you are someone that likes to keep the fronts covered.
- the sound was excellent and I understand why this series has received high marks from reviewers.
If you are in the market, I would advise pulling the trigger now and thinking later
EDIT:
It was pointed out that these have been this price for over a month now. While I'm surprised it is just now getting posted, it is worth mentioning that this is the lowest price they have been according the camels3. I'm wondering if this means they are getting ready to release a new set of models since these have been available for a few years now.

I set these up for my parents last year. They sound great at this price point. I paired them with a Yamaha receiver that I got off of Facebook marketplace for $50. I also used an 8-in monoprice sub to handle the low frequency.

If you need 4K, that's a little bit harder to find used. You might want to take a look at Yamaha Denon or Onkyo from Costco, if you can find it. I am more of a fan of Yamaha, but everyone has their preference. If you have a decent size room, then you might want to look at a 10-in or 12-in sub. You could also get two smaller subs instead of one big one which is actually better. Whatever you get, just make sure that you enjoy it.
