That said, the microphone quality on the headset is abysmal, which is not unusual for headsets but I thought I'd give it a try. I can't comment on the condenser microphone, but if they cheaped out on the headset, I would expect them to cheap out somehow on the solocast. I packed it all up and sent it in for a refund.
If this had the actual Cloud Core 7.1 with it, then I'd be more likely to call this a decent deal (It's only $15 off compared to buying each separately as I write this), but now that I know the actual contents of the package, this feels more like inflating MSRP so your "sale" price looks like a steal.
Edit: Forgot HP also acquired HyperX back in June, as far as I can tell the pack released sometime late Q4 2021 with a slew of paid reviews. If it quacks like a duck and all of that

According to hyperxgaming.com, the cable length is 2m (a little over 6 feet)
It's pretty good actually, especially at this price range. I do have the headset and use it regularly for both gaming and my office meetings. Never really had any issues.
Most headphones will last forever. The Modmic is very sophisticated and durable these days. Most headsets ( headphones + mic) will break.
Cheap streaming microphones do not deliver better quality audio than even many built-in headset mics, and to really get the most from them you should use a boom arm. A half decent boom arm is around $40. Half decent, not great.
The deal here isnt bad for every day gaming, but it's a complete joke to use for streaming.

Any recommendations for a modmic or first one from Google good enough?

IMO, the clouds are better headphones than the m20x.
I kid. You could use the headset mic for voice chat in the game you're playing and the standup mic for your stream. Also makes it possible to mute one mic source while keeping the sound on for the other.
