Very good user reviews, but Consumer Reports generally rates Coway models middlingly. They reviewed the slightly smaller Airmega 300 and found it was only Fair at removing dust, pollen, and smoke on Low speed. They also dinged it for being a little loud on High. It was Excellent at removing dust, pollen, and smoke on High speed. Competing models from Samsung, Blueair, and Alen rank higher. I've found CR reviews to not always reflect actual real life performance, so take it for what you will.

My girlfriend was always sniffling(bad allergies) and I was always snoring. I got 3 of these (1/2/basement) and I just bought another one for her office. These things have made us breathe better and live better. Love them.

Does this one get rid of weed and smoke smell.... People in my complex smoke and it comes into my apartment all the time...

I bought the 400S back in November and been very pleased so far. It's really quick to detect changes in the air. When I clear out the cat litter, take out the trash bag from its container, or vacuum, the air indicator changes colors within a few seconds. Waiting to see how it fairs during the spring when my allergies act up.

Still pretty expensive. U could get two units of other air filters and come out with more cfm?

Can detect a fart from across the room and would turn red.

Yes. It gets rid of weed and smoke smell in the air, but not in the furniture, carpets, etc.

I used to have a less expensive Winix, and would always forget to change out the activated carbon filter. This one has a light for when to vacuum/clean the prefilter (and one less thing to buy/keep on hand). Another thing to pay attention to is air changes per hour. The smaller Winix only do the max when on turbo (loud), and the coverage area is smaller if you want more air changes (4 is recommended for allergies).

I bought two sets from Walmart as they were on sale for $73. Up to $86 currently but still far better than full price. The knock off ones on Amazon have mixed reviews and supposedly reduced lifespan so I ponied up for the authentic ones.
