Yes and the M1 Air 5 was recently $60 off I think as well for pre-order. Air 5 doesn't just have the M1, but also a RAM increase to 8 GB from 4 GB in Air 4.

64K is a no go on a tablet. Makes no sense. My phone has 256. Nothing under 128K makes sense. These days you can download magazines, movies and such for travel. 64K is way too small.
Agree 64K is too less. 64G would be more than enough though for many people.

Walmart Air 4 refurb was $399 then, $439 now.

I returned a $399 refurb to get a new $559 Air 5 now (price matched BB to Walmart, which is sold out--and even BB is now backordered to April 9 on Space Gray).

My use case doesn't need M1 or more than 64GB, but future trade-in value likely makes the added cost a wash. In the meantime I get to use whatever new apps take advantage of the processor, a "new, not refurbed" warranty and the good feeling of having the "latest, greatest" Air.

The jump to 256GB or to Pro is steeper, and my use case doesn't justify it. I started out with a $500 budget for an iPad. I went over a little bit, but I won't go over by *that* much.
Walmart also have refurbish iPad 11 pros with M1 128gb for $599.. they restock it here and there. Did you not consider that route?

Is the battery life better on the Air 5? I feel like my Air 4 which doesn't even get that much use has awful battery life.

its price vs performance.

AIr 4 still good for 5 years for daily normal use. we get $150+Tax saver here.

Unless there is a need for M1 chip Air5, for most people iAir4 is good enough. yes, we do miss few options.. but i am thinking like if i really need M1 chip iPad, i would go for Pro (may be some extra than Air5) instead of Air5 if i want to spend $600+

AIr is not a right model in iPad lineup.. but to me, Apple want to keep an iPad in every $200-$250 price differences and keep on improving those models.

If there is a real need for Air5 for a person who spending $599+tax. it would be better choice to stretch little and go for iPad Pro 11 inches 3rd gen for $769+tax at wholesales stores. iPad pro have plenty of super options and worth for money. like pro motion, lidar, dual cameras, better resolution

i believe air4 at $450 is nice deal
Apple Air 5 (with education discount) is $550

$100 more gets you the M1 chip which improves battery life as it's more efficient, will allow for higher resale value down the road, and will be compatible with more features that will be locked behind the M1 processor in future OS updates

Air 4 is only worth buying at $400 or less at this point

Tax to be included. so it would be close to $600.

i am not debating here which model to buy or ignore.. i am sharing my thoughts considering every dollar is important for all of us.

To me, Air series itself is not a good series at this price range. Up to Air 2 it was reasonably priced.

If anyone spending upto $600, it would be good to add few extra bucks for the below benefits

1. get double storage 64 GB in AIr 5 Vs 128 GB in Pro
2. Pro motion display with 120 refresh vs 60 in AIr5
3. multiple cameras
4. flash
5. 4 speakers vs 2 in Air5
so many other really matter and justifies for Pro price of around 800.

Is there no tax at Microcenter? lol - this iPad Air 4 would be closer to $500

You just fell into Tim Crook's trap/pricing ladder.

Well if Im already paying $309 for the iPad 10.2" might as well get a laminated, anti-reflective screen, with smaller bezels and an M1 for $240 more in the iPad Air 5.

If I am spending $550 on the iPad Air 5 might as well spend an extra $200 to get more storage and a promotion display + 4 speakers

If I am spending $750 on the iPad Pro 11 might as well spend an additional $200 to get the newest and best screen tech and a much larger screen and get the iPad Pro 12.9

Anyone gone from an iPad Pro 10.5 to an Air. Wanting to upgrade and can't decide if paying the premium for Pro is still worth it.

I did not...only because I didn't see it and wasn't aware. Also, because I didn't think how having an iPad Pro's feature set and memory might actually change and upgrade how I use an iPad.

So, I have ordered a refurb iPad Pro 11" 128GB for $599. It's clearly a better value than a new iPad Air 5 64GB for $559. I'll be returning the Air 5 to BB unopened.

My wife will think I'm a whack job after going Air 4 --> Air 5 --> Pro 11, but I don't want to live with woulda-coulda-shoulda. Thanks for the tip!

no problem, I was originally planning to upgrade to the Air too but after searching around I ended up with the refurbished iPad pro M1 since the 64gb on the Air is bit bit small and if I can get a better ipad for just abit more, might as well ..

By the way,, double check when is the deadline for your Ipad Air to be return to Bestbuy. Just incase the Walmart item doesn't work out for whatever reason.

They are from Walmart, they are still under the original apple warranty so it should qualify for applecare. if you cant do it online then you can do it at the apple store.
