Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

What's the point of returning the free tablet?

I ordered Ti plan online, which is not for free tablet.

I ordered a tablet/TI earlier, rep said there would be bill credits after one or two months.
There was no promo code for TI or TE when I ordered.

TE will automatically apply the promo code for the free tablet online. It maybe a little bit risk if there is no credit apply after 30 days for return.

TI plan here, signed up in store, got the "free" tablet. It never showed up as free in my online account, so I called yesterday. After about half an hour, the rep assured me it would be free, but I would have to wait 1-2 billing cycles to see it correctly credited on my bill. He also added notes to the account so that when I call again (not "if" but "when"), I wouldn't have to start over with a new rep.

Ugh. I decided that this "free" tablet just wasn't worth the hassle, so I went back to the store to return it. The store waived the restocking fee and refunded my entire original payment, including the activation fee, which they had already credited back to my account as a $30 credit.

So at this point, I've spent nothing out of pocket and have a $30 credit on my account. My online account already shows no devices being financed. Too bad the "free" tablet didn't work out, but I'm totally happy with the data plan.

The promo for the free tablet never showed up in my account. They assured me that it would show up after a billing cycle or two, but of course by then it is too late to return the table if in fact the promo never gets applied.

I originally had the TE plan, had them change it to the TI plan. So I just didn't want to take the risk of two years of payments in the event the promo was never applied.

Same exact experience for me, except I purchased online so they wouldn't take it back at the store. We'll see how many more calls it takes to get them to take the tablet off of my account and credit the down payment.

Did you see that choosing the TE $10 plan gives you the tablet credits immediately, wheras choosing the TI $10 plan (the one with "Promo" in the title) doesn't show any credits at all?

I'm currently using my Google Voice number as my main number and also only use the Google Voice app to make calls. If I can get this plan to work on my iPhone and have unlimited data, it would make it the cheapest plan at $10/month.
I have the same set up on my Z Fold 2. On iOS, if ur not jailbroken just install T-Mobile profile to change ur apn with this. https://www.unlockit.co.nz/fw/

I called in today and was able to change my TE plan with tablet to TI and was told the same thing. The rep said the credits would be applied automatically after 1 to 2 months. The first rep from yesterday who placed the original order said that as well and it doesn't show up in any documentation from the TE plan order either. I made sure the rep put all the details about the free tablet promo being qualified for the TI plan it in my account notes. It's a gamble so we'll see in a couple of months.

so I reached out to a different local store recently, and asked if I can use SSN for sole proprietorship and if that'll be enough to open the line. She started saying I need to open a business line or something additionally, like another rep had said, and I told her I just heard I can do this only. Sounds like she'd accept the SSN, but wondering if there's anything else I need to have handy.

I do not have a LTE tablet yet. I have one at home with a somewhat busted screen that for sure works for AT&T... but probably it is still locked to AT&T, or won't be compatible with T-Mo.

How are people getting on with the IMEI / device stuff? Do you just tell them you will buy one online if yours doesn't work, or what? Trying to get all the steps together to make this as painless as possible

edit: I'm trying to follow this thread, but I'm getting pretty confused on whether I'd want the TI or TE plan. I also am unsure if I should get the tablet. I know an early post basically seemed to say that Tmo may change the terms at any time, so maybe it's not smart to lock in for 2 yrs for the tablet... thoughts, please? I'm a simple man, and trying to understand this all
You don't really need a tablet. At least when I was at the store the person helping me didn't even look at the IMEI on the tablet I brought with me. The person took out the sim card and asked if I wanted to do it myself or have them do it for me. I let them out it in just in case of there was no connection. But everything was all set to go once the sim was inserted into the tablet.

Yup, I signed up for a 2nd TI plan today via phone and they didn't even ask what kind of tablet it was... already had a R15 SIM card and was able to get it activated immediately...

What is R15 SIM card? Can I get 1 online? Also, did they waive activation/SIM starter fee? I want to get another line but want them to waive fees

R15 is just the newest version of a T-Mo SIM that supports 5g. I'm sure you can get them on amazon or ebay or by walking into a T-Mo store... they didn't say anything about fees when i opened the 2nd line... can't image they would charge anything if you have your own SIM already...

I just signed up for the TI plan online last night using my SSN. But, for the life of me I'm unable to figure out how to login to my account online and see any details. Anyone knows where I need to go and what info should I enter.

I did get the shipping email today. so, the order is good. But, when trying to sign up for the business account online, it doesn't work.

You should get an activation confirmation e-mail containing the tablet's phone number. You can use that to sign up for online access to your account.
