Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

OK - so I have the T-Mo hotspot (TMOHS1) & discovered quickly that it only allows 10GB to be shared before the 2G slowdown. I also have an old Asus TM-AC1900 (T-Mo branded) laying around and figured I'd give that a try (via usb tethering on the HS1) but can't seem to get them working together. Anyone able to get a setup like this to work? Any tips or instructions would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Good luck! It seems to be a hit or miss depending on which rep you get so expect multiple calls to get it sorted out. You might try asking for the HDVPASS0 promo added as well while you're on the line. I was able to get that added from the same phone number last week, though some say T-Mobile isn't allowing it anymore.
Thanks alot for the #again.
Took me just 1 call for the HD pass added without any questions asked and also got $20 sim fee credit immediately

With hotspot and unlimited internet from Tmobile, just pair it up with your phone and it's the same.

I have tested this after my hotspot speed throttled to 600kbps. Works like charm.

Windows Instructions
1. Open Powershell (Search Powershell).
2. type
Code:
python
to check installed or not (If its not installed, windows will open app store download it, once the download is completed type python to make sure its installed).
3. Download the zip file from https://github.com/parker-stephen...s/main.zip and unzip it.
4. go to unzipped location in powershell using cd.
5. install the requirements by executing command:
Code:
pip install -r requirements.txt
6. then run the bellow command follow the prompts.

example

Code:
C:\Users\<login>\Downloads\TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main>python ./rootScript.py -v

Verbose mode enabled.

Enter your weblogin password:

The exploit removed the root password of your device. It is STRONGLY recommended to set a custom root password.
Your device will be EXTREMELY INSECURE if you do not.

Would you like to set a custom root password? (Y/n):

Changing root password.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the password will be sent insecurely over telnet,
so you should manually change it later over ADB-USB if you are concerned about security.

Sent command via telnet: passwd root

### Options ###
        1) Change root password
        2) Enough with this script BS, give me a shell!
        3) Enable ADB
        4) Enable ADB - Persistent through reboot (somewhat experimental)
        5) Enable FTP server for / on port 21 - DO NOT LEAVE OPEN
        6) Remove OMA-DM bootstrap (essentially disables firmware updates, recommended)
        7) Enable mood lighting (look at the battery LED)
        8) Mask hotspot data as "on-device" data
        9) Reboot
        10) Quit

Added TTL rules to mask hotspot data as normal "on-device" data. Will take affect on reboot.

have you tried doing this with the device connected on USB instead of WiFi? USB is better and reliable. I had similar issue on WiFi, if not same.

And it's also better to change the admin pwd from the default one before doing this.

Q: How does one get this plan w/o the tablet? Tax etc Included? All online or not? Some online and then store?

Q: Is it true no [lasting] HS pass and no -$5 auto pay off?

Q: What are all the fee you can not get reversed? What costs can you get reversed and how?

Q: WIthout the tablet what will this plan/sim work on? Will it work on a compatible phone, just with no talk/SMS?

Q: Can or should this plan be used with T-moble's trial hotspot device? If you don't buy the tablet(or return it), then why not? How do they know you are on a tablet or not? What does qualify as a tablet? What better recommended value tablet has 5G and would work here.

Q: Who here got around all throttling and for how long? Who has had un-throttled high-speed without any throttling [Under 50GB] for over a month?

Note: I got a minor warning for posting linkS about antitrustday and it's bills FYI.

Trust is LOW. I know these providers can do anything they want. So what is T-Mobile actually doing? I would get this if I could depend on it.

I'm seeing the same as you are. My online account shows 0 add on, but the app show 1 add on for HD Video. Also, when I have the SIM in my iPhone, it shows HD Video in the Cellular settings. I'm getting about 7 Mbps on fast.com so I assume the HD option is working. Based on what other users have reported, if you get 2-3 Mbps on fast.com then it's not been added yet. I also tested the 5G speeds from my phone while driving around and was able to get 651 Mbps download and 48 Mbps upload in certain parts of my neighborhood. Unfortunately I'm unable to get a 5G signal from my house.

T-Mobile has a free hotspot trial you can get to see how it works at different places. Classy of them.

Cellmapper.net can show you if 5G is in your area.

Related: TV watchers may now need new 600Mhz band pass filter ($40?) for broadcast TV now, because T-Mobile 5G cells at 600Mhz are where old UHF TV actual(not virtual #) channel 35 (Frequencies) and up reside.

Thank you & repped.
My sim and tablet are arriving today.
I chatted with 2 reps online and both are saying the same that the credit will applied after 1-2 cycles.
I asked if I could return the A7 lite and get the $99 chromebook GO instead for $99 after monthly credits, they said yes, but it'll show up 1-2 cycles too.
So I am just going to wait until the sim and tablet arrived first and go from there..
Whats the promo code for the $99 Chromebook?
