Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

You shouldn't have to do anything. It should just work. Does it say that there's a Non-Verizon Sim card inserted? That what mine says.
Yes, the front screen says "Non-Verizon SIM card - T-Mobile". I tried setting the APN to fast.t-mobile.com and the DNS to an open DNS server, but that did not help either.

Another extremely weird thing is that a factory reset (software or hardware reset) does NOT reset the WiFi name and password, or the admin password, they stay the same as before (and it looks like the previous owner's details). This seems weird so I wonder if my unit is defective.

By the way, I never activated the SIM using the free tablet as I did not want to open it. I just popped the SIM into my phone to make sure messages and internet work (they work perfectly from the phone). Hope that is not the reason.

No, it is an M2100 based on IMEI and hardware info at the back. INSGM2100

MR6400 is desirable b/c of the $350 retail price. But yeah, if you can buy get the MR6150 for close to that, it is better overall.
Actually I took a look at the 5G bands again, MR6150 and MR6400 are identical. MR6400 i think is overall better with 2.5Gb port and X65 chipset (vs X62) with the lower retail pricepoint as well.

That said, is the only official way to get the MR6400 via project genesis eligibility?

How can that work to have two active SIMs on one single plan?
Google Fi actually allows that. Tmobile doesn't. Google Fi is the only I know of

i havent tested yet, but it does work with mr1100 4g. no custom firmware required. you just need a router that can change TTL to pull native data. mr1100 by itself pulls hotspot data
apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge about this. By this router, you mean a 4G LTE router so i can pop in the tmobile sim and modify TTL within the router's interface? If so, do you have a rec on cheap routers that can do this? The MR1100 I have won't even pull hotspot data from tmo sim and it shows as disconnected in its UI.

Is this ebay listing relevant?

Someone just won one on eBay for $150 including shipping for a "brand new" unit. Best price for a brand new one I've seen, and this one probably sold quickly.

Still, patience is the key. Mine was also around $100.
I just got a new one for 130 + taxes and free shipping. Arrives tomorrow, but, I won't be able to get to it before Monday.

That said, I was inspired to do this based on your post and was just patient sending people $100 offers. This guy had it listed for $200 and didn't budge initially. However, after multiple counter offers, we closed at 130. Can't wait to replace my Franklin T9 soon enough.

Franklin T9 for me does show up as Galaxy Tab though after IMEI change that is. Using it in Canada as I type this. Smilie

Yes MR6400 is project genesis's model and is locked to Dish. You have to get it unlocked via online service or DIY with sierrakeygen. If you ask on dish5g reddit maybe someone will sell it to you. I read someone sold their MR6400 for 300 there. Otherwise, you can always order one yourself from project genesis website even if you are outside of their servicing area with some tricks. You have to pay tax on top and first month service. You will also have to call them to cancel the service, which is pretty painless.

Thanks for the explanation! I didn't figure out the said tricks, but found a friend who lives in one of the provided cities and purchase went through (i think). I hope i get those crazy speeds!

I have a question for those who have either the Inseego M2100 or the Orbic Speed 5g. Will those 2 devices work with a regular tmobile phone sim or are they restricted somehow to a tablet / mobile internet sim?

Thanks!

That's awesome to hear. Congrats.

Today, I'm testing my Orbic 5G. At home, I'm only getting 20-30mbps down speeds even with 3 bars of 5G, but that's just been my experience at this specific location. I've been downloading tv shows and movies all day on HBO Max, and so far I'm at 20GB+ of data on Wi-Fi from the hotspot. No throttling at this point, so just another datapoint for us all.
