Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

1. Some people like have 2 services in 1 phone.
2. Some paid at first and asked rep/agent to credit later after account set up via Twitter or Facebook.
3. If you canceled the service, you'll have to pay the rest of balance on the tablet, you can't return and get the money back or without paying the full amount for the tablet
I have an email from rep order save just shows full price off tablet and 20 dollar sim. When I click the link from the email to checkout there is no mention of the promo or the plan

I emailed rep to modify order and remove tablet. Now going in to weekend and end of year not sure if I'll lose out on deal because the year is ending and rumor is so is plan

One way is to go through here [t-mobile.com], choose a tablet and then the $10 "Magenta Business Tablet" Plan. The site runs a credit check and then you pay. If you don't want a tablet or if you don't pass the credit check, then you call 1-877-323-5617 where they'll ask you to email a copy of your IRS form that indicates your EIN and a photocopy of your ID.

Thanks a lot. Repped

I am trying to modify by business order to get rid of the tablet and make sure the right plan is attached because it doesnt show it in the order link I received by email. The business rep does not respond. Seems like business customer service is closed - I keep getting transfered to consumer service

Try contacting Laura ([email protected]). She was my rep and I managed to remove my tablet off of my order by emailing her yesterday. She then sent me a new order last night. I can't guarantee that she's around today.

Thanks so much , I think we are assigned specific reps. I dont think contacting a different rep is appropriate. Its like going to a car salesman and emailing another salesman after the first one made the sale.

All this canceling could mess up the Line/Order; just return tablet like normal.

(I think you are responding to me)
Can I just return tablet? Or do I have to go through sales rep?

Anyone got their Orbic to stop working with the T-mobile sim?

My device had been working great for a few months and just suddenly stopped working since last day or two? The device doesn't work even with a Magenta Plan mobile SIM.

The hotspot still works when I use the AT&T tablet sim with it though.

So this is an interesting problem. The multiple ways of using this $10 line for home internet are:

1. T-Mobile Gateway + cudy - will give you LTE at the best because of the Cudy limitation
2. M2100 hotspot device - Hit or a miss - native out of the box but less reliable
3. Orbic 5G hotspot device - more reliable than the m2100, however some people have reported throttling after 1st couple of months
4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably
5. TMOHS1 - ~ 30-50 mbps out of the box, no TTL update required
6. Tmobile Franklin - ~30-50 mbps with TTL update - the most reliable as of right now, however limited speed..

I am going to update the wiki with this info and hope people can update/correct it.
For TMOHS1, I believe one must apply a script to enable unlimited data. Speed is limited to 4G LTE.

To be safe, don't open. Return within 30 days, sooner probably better.

Just adding some details from my testing today after I saw these posts. My device is also patched and rooted and doesn't start up if the battery is not installed in the TMOHS1.

However, if you power it on and then remove the battery, it stays on. I didn't even try any fancy chargers, just plugged into my router's USB 3.0 port.

With that being said, an Interesting thing that I noticed is that, if I take out the battery after the TMOHS1 hotspot has booted up (assuming, it's when you start seeing the signal light and it's trying to connect to the network), the hotspot turns off.

But, if I power it on and take out the battery as soon as it's on (only wifi & battery light is on), the device worked and stayed on for more than an hour. I'm assuming here, this way it might stay on as long as you would want it to.

It all maybe a shot in the dark or just a fluke, if you try and it works, do update here.
Re: the TMOHS1 battery... I managed to kill my battery by keeping it plugged in continuously. When I removed it while still plugged in, all the lights on the TMOHS1 went out so I assumed it wasn't working. But even though it looks completely dead, no lights at all, it is still functioning. Just wanted to add this in case it helps someone else.
