Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Re: the TMOHS1 battery... I managed to kill my battery by keeping it plugged in continuously. When I removed it while still plugged in, all the lights on the TMOHS1 went out so I assumed it wasn't working. But even though it looks completely dead, no lights at all, it is still functioning. Just wanted to add this in case it helps someone else.
Kill battery = no power when disconnected to power?

Is TMOHS1 fully functional as a hotspot with battery removed (no lights but connected to an external power source)? This would be one strategy to preserve the battery if you want to use the TMOHS1 as a home router.

Yes, it doesn't function with battery in and disconnected from power. With power connected and battery in it looks like it is cycling... lights all off/all on/two on, repeat. I'm was afraid to leave the battery in plugged in to power because of issues people have had with overcharged bulging batteries leading to fires, etc.

But it is fully functional as a hotspot with the battery removed even though there are no lights at all to indicate that it is working.

That's a good strategy to preserve the battery for home use. The unit will probably pull about 5W. Is the hotspot range good to about 30 ft using the 2.5GHz band? No need to broadcast 5GHz due to the limited 4G LTE speed and penetration of 5GHz signal.

Cheaper way would be Cudy router and Nokia modem
Hi, I dont want to take the $25 plan thread off topic so respondng here

I have an Asus router (converted from old TMO router to Asus firmware)

One of the options in the settings is under WAN, Internet Connection is:
"Spoof LAN TTL value"

Its just a yes/no radio button but I believe it sets the value to 64 which should be enough to fool a hotspot

So if that is a correct assumption, would the only purchase necessary be the Nokia trash can modem?

Are you experiencing any data caps whatsoever?

LOL. Over 1TB a month. Nope. This is one of 4 lines I have, all with different setups, none throttled that I can tell.

Thx. Will report back. I have a Sagemcom gateway and an Arcadyan gateway, the latter currently running on a TMHI sim. Router is TMO flashed to RTAC68U. Home Internet use is an easy 1 - 2 TB per month

Should be fine, at least in my location (metro Los Angeles).

Insert $10 sim into Arcadyan. Connect LAN cable from Arcadyan to Asus (with spoof LAN TTL active). Apply power and connect your devices (WiFi or LAN) to the Asus router. I would recommend disabling the WiFi module in the Arcadyan.

Waiting for the free TMOHS1 4G hotspot since I don't have a spare Arcadyan. Has anyone tested the real world WiFi range of the TMOHS1?

So I plugged my RTAC68U into the Arcadyan and also the Sagem just to get data points. Neither of them uses HS data with the spoof feature activated.

One thing that IS limited though is the video streaming, which is throttled down to 6-7 Mbps (Fast.com) even with the HD pass activated. Speedtest hitting the usual 300+ Mbps. I have yet to see what it looks like on the Apple TV but if 4K video doesn't stream with this setup then that would be a bummer.

I have no internet while connected Asus ax86u to T-Mobile Nokia 5g21, after enabled spoof TTL Value. Did I do wrong?

My cudy does work. But its range couldn't get upstairs.
Thank You!

You know what is interesting, when looking at the websitenow I dont see the TE plan now, but I do see the TI plan - can anyone confirm? Perhaps that was the rumor about a plan expiring

Hi is your Asus router flashed with stock Asus firmware or is it flashed with AsusWRT Merlin?
