From this post

The multiple ways of using this $10 line for home internet are:

1. T-Mobile Gateway + Cudy N300 or X6 which are wifi only routers to mask hotspot usage with TTL set on the external wifi router. You can use other wifi routers for this purpose but there's a menu page in the Cudy routers which makes setting TTL easy - Courtesy waterchange
1.1 Cudy router like Cudy LT500 or LT18 or the 5G P8 work as a single device with modem + wifi router. Work well for home internet. Nice thing about the Cudy modems is easy TTL (and imei magic if necessary). - Courtesy waterchange
2. M2100 hotspot device - Hit or a miss - native out of the box but less reliable
3. Orbic 5G hotspot device - more reliable than the m2100, however some people have reported throttling after 1st couple of months
4. Gateway + Project Genesis - works most reliably
5. TMOHS1 - ~ 30-50 mbps out of the box, no TTL update required
6. Tmobile Franklin - ~30-50 mbps with TTL update - the most reliable as of right now, however limited speed.
7. M2000 won't pull data from anywhere.
8. GL.iNET Spitz GL-X3000NR easier to use than Cudy and better performance but expensive. Great form factor and performance. Presets for T-Mobile TTL settings and advanced cell features like tower/band lock. External antennas.
9. M3000B works out of the box with T-Mobile version. Has battery preservation features and ethernet port. Some users say to switch 5G mode to NSA if the hotspot restarts frequently in your area.

Add/update if you have more/better info.

Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it
Some people don't live in a house.
Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Not sure if my TMOHS1 battery is roasted, but when I connect the charger, it keeps flashing lights in a particular order. Won't power on at all... anyone has any experience?

Its $60 now but if you click on promotion avail you get a free extender

You still need the Nokia 5g21 or Ark modem to go with it
What speed do you get? Instructions to update the TTL? Is there a way to change/mask the IMEI?

Something is missing.
In your other post you state:
1. Installed Python 3.10.6 in windows 10. The Python310 folder is located in C:\Python310
2. Extracted and copied the contents of TMOHS1.zip into the C:\Python310 folder

BUT
when Python is installed it should be at:
C:\Users\WIN_8\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python310
Replace WIN_8 for the correct one in your PC.
Unless you changed the install.
Check to see if there is a:
C:\Users\WIN_8\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python310 in your PC.

Python is NOT in the system32 directory.
All TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main.zip extracted files should be copied to the C:\Users\WIN_8\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python310 directory.

Make sure all the files of the TMOHS1-Root-Utility-main.zip file are extracted in the TMOHS1 folder.

.gitignore
COPYING
patchUSB.sh
README.md
requirements.txt
rootScript.py
usb.patch
utils.py

Also there is a folder in the TMOHS1 folder named: __pycache__
and that there is a file in there:
utils.cpython-310.pyc

Also in my TMOHS1 folder there is the pip3.10.exe file.
You can google pip3.exe and pip3.10.6.exe and/or search youtube for more info on it.

Also, see this post:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=157340746&postcount=3168

NOTE that the github zip file stated in #3 of the original instruction in this thread is NO LONGER there, Not Found:
3. Download the zip file from https://github.com/parker-stephen...s/main.zip and unzip it.

In my PC using PowerShell this is the command:

PS D:\TMOHS1_Root_Utility> .\pip install -r requirements.txt
then there are several lines beginning with:
Requirement already satisfied:
(Since that's already been run in my PC.)
and ending with:
[notice] A new release of pip available: 22.2.2 -> 22.3.1
[notice] To update, run: python.exe -m pip install --upgrade pip
PS D:\TMOHS1_Root_Utility>

Some info on the TMOHS1 here:

https://parkercs.tech/tmohs1/

Thank you for your input. I re-installed Python using the default installation location and copied

.gitignore
COPYING
patchUSB.sh
README.md
requirements.txt
rootScript.py
usb.patch
utils.py

to the Python 310 directory. I'm missing the folder pycache containing utils.cpython-310.pyc, AND pip3.10.exe that must be present in the Python 310 directory. The included download link for the zip file is NOT FOUND. Would it possible to obtain from you the missing contents that must be placed in Python 310 directory? I've included screenshot of my Python 310 directory along with my email (PM).

Also, are also putting TMOHS1_Root_Utility in the D partition when you run the command PS D:\TMOHS1_Root_Utility> .\pip install -r requirements.txt?

Thank you,
F

Connect TMOHS1 via USB with battery removed. Now insert battery. All lights should come on. When the lights go out, remove the battery. The unit should be operational. If you don't have lights, then the battery is probably toast.

You may be able to jump start by applying ~4 VDC to the TMOHS1's + and - terminals (see + and - marks on battery). Note the middle terminal is for balancing the charge between the three internal cells.

Just received this message from Tmobile: Honestly, this code use to work and it was recently removed from the system. I still attempted to add it, but received the error that the code does not exist. I won't be able to add that to the account.

Is the HDPass code still valid? They won't or can't add it.

They kept going: The code cannot be added on any plan. It doesn't exist in our system. I'm offering to change the plan to one that has more features.

Thanks! Not sure why they would blatantly lie about it. I guess to push the higher end plans. I have to wait until tomorrow as when I tried to contact someone again via Twitter, it was the same person. Maybe I'll try Facebook tonight. Pain in the arse!

I went through all the drama you went through... long story short... Go to Facebook support. Don't waste your time with Tmobile support and going into the store. They just don't have the option to add it. I was in the store with the rep and we painstakingly went through every single option available and it jut isn't there.

One guy told me that the feature wasn't authorized for the plan and tried to offer me a feture to add HD streaming for 24 hours for $3 a day.

The next lady straight out told me that I would have to goto the store cause I wasn't an authorized user on the plan... wth! The plan is in my name.

I didn't get mad though. Facebook support did it like it was nothing.

But still counts as native data and not hotspot when front-end to a Nok5G21?

So when I remove the battery, it doesn't keep the lights on...
Do you have a video link or a picture or something more visual for jump start? Would appreciate that.

Connect the TMOHS1 by USB cable (input 5VDC). Did you see all the lights coming on when you first insert the battery? Wait a few seconds and the light should go out. Quickly remove the battery and confirm that you are still getting data.

If you don't see all the lights coming on, then remove the battery and check the battery voltage with a voltmeter. Look for a - and + terminals on the battery. Nominal voltage for starting is around 3.8VDC. If the voltage is too low, then connect three 1.5VDC batteries in series and apply this voltage to the - and + terminals of the TMOHS1 (with battery inserted in TMOHS1).
