Just an FYI if you're just getting this for the "free" tablet. The tablet is a Galaxy A7 lite which only costs $200 ($129 on Amazon)

They will still lock you to a 2 year EIP even if it's free (They'll make a monthly credit to cover the tablet EIP)

Meaning you'd end up paying $10 for 2 years ($240) for a $129 tablet.

So if you're only doing it for the tablet then it's not worth it

Not on the "free" tablet, lol. In all seriousness, don't choose the plan with TE in the title as that one is tax exclusive (you have 2 choices)

soc code ZB10HSTI is the one you want.

Any luck figuring out how to get better 4k video performance? Works great with a VPN, but not without (I do have HDVPASS0 applied)

Want to let you know that it is still possible to get the old price but you have to find a nice t-mo manager. I was talking/working with one manager at Costco's kiosk and signed up 2 new lines with "samsung a9+ on us" promo. I was expected to pay $30 for 2 lines and he showed me 2 lines for $30 on the sign up screen. unfortunately I didn't read closely and he gave me wrong plan (he gave me business tablet with 5GB for $20 with 2nd line 50% off). After a few days when I realized the mix up, I went back and talked to him. I said the one he gave me is wrong and I want to show him which one I want. he pulled up his tablet and showed a list of options to choose. he clicked "more" so additional plan options show up. he scrolled 2 pages(I believe) and the "magenta business tablet (Promo)" showed up. I told him that one and he selected and retro activated from current billing cycle instead of next one. After I arrived home, I was able to see my old plan has changed to the one i wanted. I also saw the plan charged me $10 for each line. However, due to change of plan, i might not get the samsung a9+ promo/costco $25 cash card even though he said it still showed I'll get credit every month for the payment. We will see what's gonna happen next month. He also converted 2 of my lines from old MI30TI to the same tablet plan. If I lose the a9+ credit, I'll just cancel those 2 lines. i dont really need a tablet if i have to pay it.

So if you don't mind some headache and have spare plans to try to convert, go talk to them and see what they can do for you. Good luck.
Great info! Where did you get these screenshots? I logged into my T-Mo business account, but could find such details about my plan.

are you using business or consumer portal ?

If I login in to my account on the business portal, I have to go to the line and then select change rate plan, and then I see my current plan and I click view details
I get this
Quote :
This Magenta Business Tablet Promo plan provides li Unlimited 5G 4G LTE data in the U S on our network so you can watch stream and play all day No data overages li Up to 10GB of 5G 4G LTE mobile hotspot data then at max 3G speeds after that li Plus data in Mexico and Canada with up to 5GB of 5G 4G LTE at no extra charge li Get unlimited data at 2G speeds in 210 countries and destinations li Capable device required coverage not available in some areas li Video typically streams on smartphone tablet at DVD quality 480p unless HD pass is activated li During congestion customers on this plan using 50GB mo may notice reduced speeds until next bill cycle due to data prioritization li For tablets on-device usage is prioritized over tethering usage which may result in higher speeds for data used on device li Some uses may require additional plan or feature li Not eligible to AutoPay or Hybrid discounts
One thing I notice I am missing in this description is the mention of 5g data in the European countries mentioned in Clar's 2nd screenshot - not that I am travelling there anytime soon

Sorry, was out of country for a while and looked like another person answered your question.

anyway. The tablet plan worked well on my phone except in Tanzania where my connection always drop a few minutes after connected to Airtel Tanzania. Tried to connect to Vodacom manually but unsuccessful. No issue when I used it in Doha, Qatar. So i'm happy with this cheap data plan.

Speed was slow, so don't bother to watch 4k video while in foreign country. It is perfect for me since i only check emails, use google voice/whatsapp to send/receive texts, look at maps, maybe call a uber or something in the future.

I recently added this $10 tablet line, added HD Pass, and tried it in T9 and TMOHS1, both rooted and TTL-modified. Speed never reached 25mbps, neither did it on my phone showing 5G UC.

I also tried the 30GB hotspot plan MI30TI from the other thread, same thing. This makes me think that these tablet/hotspot lines are severely throttled by T-mobile. Any comments?

Just tested and saw around 500mpbs download. Likely is your location specific issue. since you indicated not even from your phone with 5G UC.

Another EU trip, no issues with free in flight WiFi with this plan.

No issues with data either once I landed.

I got the welcome message and immediately got connected and my other line ATT got full connection (calls/sms) through the T-Mobile data.

How do you get ATT calls through TMO data?

Do you have a link?
I was also curious about Cudy. Was looking at this one to pair with the Arcadyan

Cudy New AX3000 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router, Mesh Wi-Fi Router, 802.11ax Internet Router, 160MHz, MU-MIMO, OFDMA, WireGuard, OpenVPN, WPA3, WR3000 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRK3CYY3

The Cudy P5 would supplant the need for Arcadyan as it's cellular + router (and spendy - $400)

Totally understand -- my main interest in something like CUDY is better VPN performance as it helps to have VPN on all the time due to all the throttling they do of video content on these plans

I have an R7000 and the VPN performance is very middling vs with VPN off

Oh, can you explain what you mean, ? I am a bit newbie with networking technology You run VPN on the router and Cudy routers are suitable for this?

Also, oddly, the white WR3000s which retails for $10 more than the black WR3000 and the only functional difference I can see from specs is that the white one has an extra ethernet port (which I dont need) but the white one with extra port comes out less because it has a higher coupon

On IOS, set data line to T-Mobile and turn off data switching, set voice line to ATT, set roaming on T-mobile, disable on ATT, enable wifi calling on ATT.

ATT will use the T-mobile data for calls/sms, works fine at 256kbps.

Edit: Important to make sure your ATT line has international disabled or it gets the $10 a day international charge.
