What do you mean? This is a Ryzen 7 5800. This is on par or beats the intel 11th gen 1195g7.

Ryzen 7 has better performance than the 11th gen Core i7s. The 12th gen ones are better than the 11th gen, but I would stick with AMD for this cycle of CPUs.

I recently bought my wife a Dell with the Ryzen 7 5800U and it's quite impressive how fast her laptop is.

I'm looking to upgrade my laptop, which is a backup machine for my business. I'm only looking at Ryzen 7 laptops. This HP looks solid for the $, plus I love COSTCO.

The other one has a touchscreen, and a very bright screen which is rare for a touchscreen at that price range.

If you don't care at all for a touchscreen, then yea, this one is better.

I have a HP work laptop that my two monitors hookup to. Will the dock with display port hook into my work docking station to enable me to hook up the envy to my work docking station https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8LB...A3M7YV01T6 without swapping the monitor cables? If not I think the only option is to buy the $300 HP USB-C docking station.

No, you can't daisy chain it to the "work" dock. But if your office laptop has a USB-C port, you can use any USB-C hub with multiple monitor hookup to switch between computers. Don't have to go with HP's pricey one. It's still swapping cables but it's a single cable swap.

Of course, AMD's U series cpu's absolutely demolish Intel's inefficient low core shite

Aero doesn't have higher resolution, it's its 16:10 aspect ratio makes it 1900x1200 instead of 1080

My college bound teen has this for a doc and note taker, more efficient CPU lightweight, bright 400 NITS for outdoor capable, doesn't care for touchscreen. Aero 13 meets all that.
I don't care much for a touch screen either, but I do love it for scrolling up and down on long documents or websites. That's about the only thing I use them for, but that was enough of a convenience factor that I paid to upgrade to a touch screen on my Pavilion.

Well, not really a way better processor, the tests and comparison are almost the same.
Second, touch screen is a must, myself don't use much, but it's really a must on lots of occasions. Third, the build quality of Envy is premium also, HP classified Envy and above series as their flagship, if you go to HP site you know what I meant.
Overall, if you can compromise on slightly less powerful processor, then apple to apple comparison HP envy is overall good value.
