Is this bright enough for outside? If not, any good recommendations on a 50-55 that I can carry outside on nice days and does a decent job with glare?

Sadly not. I had the 65" a few months ago specifically to use out by the pool on a stand and had THE worst time trying to create shade around it just to make out what was happening on the screen...and once I got even a tiny bit of shade, the glare made it unwatchable.

It's a great set but just absolutely not for your use. Frankly, I'm having a helluva time finding anything at the low end that fits this need and may bite the bullet and go Samsung Q90 (I know, about 4X the price). Since I've decided to settle on a smaller set (50-55") it's not terrible, but it's a bitter pill to swallow.
