This is the same argument since...

Why 720P LED, my 480p glass tube TV is better...

Why 1080p? All content is 480p...

Why 4K? It's nonsense, there is no content and your eyes can't see the difference...

8K is now... embrace it, or keep watching your 2 inch bezel, dim, lacking color, old TV.

Every generation has clearly been an improvement.

As mentioned by the other guy, you conveniently miss important failures in home video technology (3D televisions), a direction which 8K could head. Think about how much infrastructure has been invested into 4K technology by media companies, and what it would take for all that infrastructure to be upgraded right now to 8K just as they completed that costly investment. Sure, you could early adopt an 8K TV now but you'll likely just get some bullshit music videos here and there in 8K, or a small feature once in a while for several years. By the time 8K becomes a thing (4-10 years), your 8K TV will be super outdated in terms of all the other tech that comes in it besides resolution. So you will have wasted money.

Not exactly
Because I am going to bet the Tv companies start putting their best picture quality only in their 8K sets...like they did on the 4K ones. In fact Sony has definitely already done just that

So..if you want better/best picture quality you have to buy an 8K TV
