Contemplated on this when I was thinking of getting my kids a smart watch. But settled on wyze watch 44. Same price.

No, more of fitness stuff. But my use, or in my kids use, it's more of a clock and smart watch features uses. This watch might be more suitable for a lot younger kids.

The dx3 is the latest one. It was at Costco for $40 but they delisted it. I see it on Amazon purple for $36 and other colors 45-50.

I remember seeing one at Costco for $29, marked as discontinued at my local store, not sure of the model though. Edit - it is dx3 and it's $29 at costco.

Any major upgrades with V3 over V2? I could only ID that you can connect multiple v3s for some limited gaming, but couldn't tell what else was upgraded, such as camera, battery, etc.

Hey, just be aware that VTech recently lost a case involving privacy of children, because they were using childrens data without authorization for marketing and research purposes… I just wonder what they could do with data + pictures/videos + audio

The "good" news is that this case was related to the Kid Connect application VTech used to mediate some connected devices (like a Wi-Fi enabled tablet). This watch appears to lack any connectivity and videos and images are simply stored and made available as a storage device (so no intermediary application required).
