I have a pair in Black. Bought them for this price and absolutely love them. The imaging and detail is just awesome.

My dog barks at scenes (door bells, knocks, etc...) because it sounds so real compared to my old soundbar.

I'm guessing he's saying compared to testing/critical listening where 'snobs' would opt for integrated or dedicated amplifiers, with a separate source.

These are on the entry edge of audiophile, so these getting paired with Rotel, Cambridge, Marantz, etc. isn't that uncommon.

I have a full surround set on a Yamaha TSR 7850
BR08
BR03
BRC1
Klipsch R-112SW

It sounds so freaking natural. I moved up from Pioneer Andrew Jones, which didn't sound terrible, but these are many steps above those. So much detail, while still not overly bright or harsh.

Extremely happy with the purchase 👍
That's a really nice setup. I really wish I would have jumped on a Yamaha TSR-7850 when Costco still had them. Tried the TSR-700 and didn't like it at all compared to my old RX-V679.

Good point. Made in China like all these other "above average" speakers. So these will also just depreciate in value over time. And know that these are 6.3" speakers, not 8" which one could assume by seeing the "8" in the model name. If you have the room, bigger is almost always better.

Not knocking this brand, but pulling all of the Kef / Elac / Klipsch / Sony / Pioneer audiophile-on-a-budget-hype claims back to reality. They are all commodity-type products with slightly varying strengths and weaknesses.

And never get suckered in by the mspr discount on new speakers. Not sure if it equates to all brands, but divide the mspr by 2 and maybe that's the actual value. It's just a tool to get you to spend your money more freely.

Would these be a significant enough upgrade to an infinity Reference 263 setup?
I'd also like to know. I have a 5.1 system that must be close to 10yrs old now, that's built with Infinity Primus speakers, paired with a Yamaha Aventage AVR. Sounds good, but I often wonder if I can do better and if so, would it be within a reasonable budget. I'm sure it's super simple to go out and spend triple what I spent to only get a 10% improvement in sound, if any.

I wish there was a lengthy hierarchy chart for speakers, so you could sort by frequency response, price, size, etc...much like they do for GPUs [tomshardware.com].

Seeing some pretty mixed opinions on the lower range Triangles and a lack of measurements in any reviews.

Well aside from GPUs being small and easy to ship to dozens of reviewers, they also have actual metrics that are easy for anyone to track.

Speakers on the other hand, are significantly more subjective. Yes a reviewer can give you frequency graphs and such, but that's like bench racing. It doesn't mean it'll sound better.

I personally have the Infinity Reference set (6" speaker version) and I love it. I too get tempted by this type of deal, but I don't have enough play money to toss a grand+ around at "might sound different, let alone better".

But that's just my .02.

Huh? you questioned how many brands there are, never said anything about whether they are "above average" or not?

I have these and also bought a $1000 b&w 606 s2. I love these compared to the 606s. Don't get me wrong, the 606s are good as well, but, these sound so much better tonally and in detail. The best part about this speaker are the mids. They're fantastic. Male and female vocals sound much much better on these than the 606s. I think it may be because of the paper cone midrange driver. Forget all the depreciation nonsense. You should be worrying about depreciation if your are spending $10k on the speakers, not $750 for the set. You will not regret buying them.

I'm not an audiophile but looking to invest into one. Can someone comment on a compatible receiver with this? Also, I can't afford the bundle but curious if it makes more sense to buy the 2x floor speakers first and wait until the 2x satellites and center go on sale?
Yes. These will work great without center and satellite until u get them. You can get any receiver which can go down to 4ohms. If you have Costco membership, get the Denon or Onkyo. Denon has some refurbished items on their site under "special" tab (just avoid the cheapest ones).
