To avoid tax and fees, you may buy the refills from a third party like Target first and pay the plan with refills. Sign up for a Target REDcard debit or credit card and you'll get at least 5% off every purchase, more when they offer sales on refill cards.

You can change the plan after you sige up.

FAQ:

Q: Do $10 and $35 Connect by T-Mobile receive an annual data increase?
A: No. Only $15 and $25 Connect by T-Mobile plans feature an annual data increase

eSIM: T-Mobile DOES offer eSIM on pre-paid plans even if you have an Android phone. If you have an iPhone, download the T-Mobile Prepaid eSIM app and you will be able to sign up that way. You may have to scroll the plan list to see the cheaper Connect plans, T-Mobile buries them.

Boostmobile? the worst support on the Earth?
Tmobile prepaid get priority data like their postpaid which neither metropcs get nor the mvno. I guess tmobile prepaid gets domestic roaming as well. That's the main benefit compared to other tmobile based
I am glad someone mentioned this. This is the reason to go for T-Mobile prepaid vs others. You get the highest priority data unlike any other mvno. I have mint, and I barely get any data in certain areas even with almost full bars.

Just checked. Domestic roaming is limited to 100MB. Better than nothing in a pinch, but useless if you rely on this a lot.

When I use Tmobile prepaid esim to sign up for Connect, will tmobile assign me a new number and I don't have a choice to transfer my number at the time of sign up, do I? I have to get a new number and transfer my number later, correct?

Below is a comment on Howards' Forum that I'm going to follow when my Red Pocket year is up:

Yeah, you might need to activate on a physical SIM first (online or in a store) and then have them move it to eSIM if you really want it on there. A few other pointers, if you do it in-store, it's just the cost of the SIM card and first month of service with sales tax and then you can ensure that the SIM is up and running. Online can get dicey with the ordering process (sometimes the prepaid ordering site errors out, I think they have one person managing it).

Either way, set up your new line as a new number, that way you can make sure everything is working and set up your account management stuff (you'll need to set a 6-digit PIN, too - in store they'll have you create one or may set up a default one). Once everything is working, there's a section on the account management site to bring your number over (Line details > Change phone number > Transfer my number) and you need your Verizon phone number, account number, and PIN. Once you do that, if everything is as expected, it should happen almost immediately.

If you port while setting up the new line, there's always the chance the Verizon port could fail and then you'd be in limbo and can't even access the T-Mobile account (since there wouldn't be a phone number assigned to the SIM).

I finally finished setting up Connect and transfering my number, thanks to your respond. I didn't have to buy sim card. The process is very easy with the tmobile prepaid app for iphone.

Depends on your location for taxes charged, but no taxes if you buy and use prepaid T-Mobile card from Target.

expired now deal for example: https://slickdeals.net/f/16041841-all-prepaid-wireless-airtime-cards-email-delivery-50-value-for-45-at-t-t-mobile-cricket-more

I have had tmobile connect for over a year, and my understanding is after each year of service our data allotment increases by 500mb.

But when asked the filipino tech support about this, they acted like I was the one from another planet, and had never heard of this.

Can anyone confirm that they received the 500mb annual boost, and if so, where is it reflected in your account? Thanks
