Let me help you a bit OP.

Put price in title. $349. That's expensive for what you're getting. The 2nd gen 7c performs just below an older gen i3 cpu, about 8th gen, maybe 10th.

4GB ram is enough for a chromebook now, but 2GB was enough 3 years ago, so you may end up RAM limited on this, and I'd wanna get more than 2-3 years out of it for $350.

I missed the 8GB/128GB version that was just FP at $400. It's $400 again. Considering both versions are otherwise identical (same cpu), do you think that it's not worth it and I should wait?

I don't think the extra ram is worth that sort of price for a chromebook.

Walmart has a 4GB/128GB i3 chromebook with a touchscreen and a backlit keyboard for <$400. It goes on sale and in and out of stock a lot. I bought that for $299 last year.

And I just bought the 4GB/32GB 17" chromebook for $149 from bestbuy this past weekend.

At $400 for a chrome device, I wanna see amazing features!

That one from walmart isn't a tablet, is it? I've been looking for the lenovo's form factor, and 1. I didn't want to spend the money for a Surface Pro; 2. I don't want Windows., 3. I want/need the added benefits of Chrome OS vs android (plus the lenovo will be supported until 2029). Since Lenovo has been front page/popular deal at a price point of $400-$450 several times in the last 2ish months, I was planning on getting it once it dropped to $400 again. But I can wait to purchase. So considering else is out there, at what price point do you the Lenovo would be worth it (obviously 8gb version)? Or if not the Lenovo, what else would you recommend? tia

This would also be my travel device, think vacation. So I don't need the best. Normally I would just get a tablet with a nice screen. But because of work I still need the benefits of Chrome OS.

Costco has a flex 5 2-in-1 chromebook for $300 if you are ok with the form factor.

Thanks, I actually looked at that one.and almost got it, but my wife didn't like it. And it'll be for her. We both need them and I'm definitely more open to different options than she is. So I'll take another look at it for myself. She's just tired of having to take her work computer and a tablet on vacation. We (or maybe I) didn't even know until recently it had to be windows or chome os. I had assumed if it worked in chrome (browser) that it would also work on android tablets. Wouldn't be so bad if we could just share one, but oddly we don't always travel at the same time or together. And I have a small pc laptop, so I really didn't need a tablet. However, I have a new 15.6" laptop coming, so I'm definitely not going to want travel with it.
