Amazon reviews are hit or miss. I largely don't trust a few negatives due the fact that it's only a few reviews for a large quantity production item. Most people only review if something is a negative experience anyhow so there are likely thousands of satisfied users comparatively. Also the price should tell you alot.

Sony's 3D audio works on any wired or wireless headset, it's a feature of the PS5 not a feature of specific headphones. You don't need to buy a specific device, but there's no doubt that some headsets do a better job of making games feel more immersive.

With this being a mediocre headset, what do you all recommend for a mid-range headset, wired and/or non-wired?

I will be moving in with my girlfriend soon, which means no loud noises from the receiver at most times lol.
