Cast iron must be "seasoned" before use to be able to use it. A properly seasoned cast iron pan essentially becomes non-stick and is super easy to clean. Pre-seasoned just means that step is done for you

I'm not an enthusiast but "seasoning" your cast iron is necessary and prevents rust. It is part of the normal usage between cooks. Not to be confused with "seasoning" in terms of adding spices or salt to the food you're preparing. Same word, totally different meanings.

I have the old model 10" and it what you exactly expect out of a cast iron. Would recommend. Def needs to be seasoned though.

Bought this last time it was on sale. I like it and use multiple times each week. Seasoning was good, pan was pretty smooth for a budget pan (better than lodge, not as bumpy). For reference, I own several lodge pans, as well as a couple other brands. The longer handle on this unit is appreciated as well compared to the stubs you get from most brands. I believe it is made in Colombia if anyone was looking for that info.

10/10 recommend, especially at sale price.

Paid $14.92 back in November 2020 and also bought the red heat resistant rubber handle insert. I use the 12" glass lid from another pan set . This is a fantastic price for this and you probably need to go to a garage/yard sale to find it cheaper.

I have one of this and a small size lodge one. This one eventually started giving rustic taste … at the same time lodge one is a true quality product
