If they're rusting, it sounds like you're not seasoning them well. Generally after cleaning cast iron or carbon steel cookware, I wipe down with just a little bit of oil and then wipe that oil off with a dry paper towel and store.

That's not really an issue, I find that you're better off seasoning even a pre-seasoned cast iron skillet. Coat with oils and stick it in the oven for an hour, not much to it.
