Company claims 1200 lumens but who knows. Definitely looks decent for $12.

I had a $10 coupon on the product page and was able to replicate again so likely widely available.

4.7 out of 5 with >22,000 ratings. Pretty impressive.

So this is a good deal possibly if you want a light that uses AA batteries. What you need to understand is that the LED this light uses was released a decade ago. It is old tech. Not very bright and not very efficient by today's standards. Also subpar tint.

https://flashlightwiki.com/Cree

Also it's probably not regulated so it will continually lose brightness over time.

Long story short I think most people would be better off with a Sofirn S11C. If you up your budget to 20 or 30 bucks then you'll have a ton of better options. At 12 bucks though your options are limited.
This product is outdated garbage. It takes 4xAAs, which is wasteful in space and money (and environmental impact if you use disposables), and has an outdated XM-L2 LED. There are much better options in this size range from Convoy, Thrunite/Wowtac, Sofirn, and Wurkkos.

I'd recommend a Wurkkos FC11 for most people, which is $25-30 but includes a rechargeable battery and built-in charging, and produces a far better beam than this product.

Closer to $15 can often get you a Convoy S2+ which has great build quality and lots of customizable options. It doesn't, however, come with a battery, same as this 'deal'.

Here's a list of commonly recommended flashlights, and I'm also happy to answer questions from anyone looking for a light.

EDIT: portezbie mentioned the Sofirn S11C which is not nearly as nice as the Wurkkos FC11 or Sofirn SP31 Pro - but if you don't want to spend more and can wait for shipping from China, it's better than this GearLight. Under $10 shipped, with battery, in the current ali sale.

Looks good but some reviews indicate it doesn't get close to 1200 lumens as stated and is closer to 500.

I would probably go for this one since the OP flashlight can not take a 18650 battery.

I will pass though since I did that Coast mystery bag the other day. I will wait for that and hope for something decent.

I might go for that too, even though I have about a thousand flashlights.
Wouldn't hesitate at all if it came with an 18650 battery. Smilie

Yes, with a battery it would be impossible to pass up.

I also have more flashlights than I will ever need. Always looking for the one that is just right with flashlights, knives and wallets. Trying to be better at controlling my buying impulses.

Agree, I just got a Wuben C3 with battery for about $18. Way better than this one. All I need to sacrifice is two cups of Starbucks.

I don't have personal experience with the Wuben C3, but with its specs it seems quite good for $18.

I would still take the FC11 which has a nicer beam profile, excellent color rendering, and a lower minimum brightness for $10 more, personally.

Wurkkos is awesome. And they run good coupons at times. Way better than most flashlight deals that pop up here. Wurkkos has great quality and prices.

in for one.

I'm interested in a $12 flashlight; I REALLY don't want a dozen alternate options that are better for $20-$30.

Tell us a better alternative for maybe $15, but don't portray this as garbage because something 2-3x the price is better.

4xAA is an interesting option/weight class, especially for those who don't want a rechargeable mess.
