I bought two 5 quart jugs of platinum high mileage 5W-30 and had it shipped to the closest Amazon locker and used the $10 promo code "10OFFPICKUP". After the rebate, I will have paid $5 for 10 quarts of premium oil. Monster deal!

You can submit two or more receipts at the same time when submitting the rebate info online. My oil got here yesterday ($18x2 SS for the ultra plat) and I just did the rebate. Really nice rebate process. Considering doing it again since the rebate limit is 2 if the price comes down again.

I don't think so and why would you even want to bring your own oil/filter? Their prices for oil changes are cheaper than most places already if you don't plan to do your own oil change. You can choose between conventional and synthetic oil at Walmart. If you own a non-German car and change the oil/filter according to schedule even if you do not use any big name synthetic oil, your car engine will run fine. I am not sure if Walmart does any oil changes for German cars.

Just checked on my rebate status which I submitted 2 weeks ago.
Says invalid, even though I submitted the amazon receipt after I received the oil, with the correct receipt and for the oil that was eligible. Not looking forward to all the phone calls, holds and the run around.

I'm disappointed in Shell/Pennzoil .

This is all a game and hurdles they seem to do to get around paying out for the rebates. In the future I'm just going to avoid rebates, even though I have done it over a decade without much problems. But for the past 2 years it seems I always have to call them and straighten it all out with many phone calls.

Yeah, unless the engine is severely sludged up and many ounces of sludge are being liquified, the vast majority of the time that doesn't happen. Especially with direct injection engines helping dilute the oil with fuel.

For car above 120,000 miles, is there a big difference in using Regular synthetic 5W-20 compared to High Mileage synthetic 5W-20?

Not a super huge difference but most HM oils are slightly thicker than regular and will contain more seal conditioners to help out so there's no leaks. >120k is about the time I'd look to start switching though.

Thanks for the info. It's Honda CRV and with proper maintenance it usually lasts even above 200,000 miles
