Benefits over this are 6v charging, AGM and lithium modes as well as temp compensation. Oh, and a force mode that will charge a batt regardless of low charge state. The display provides a little insight as to what's going on and it looks nicer.

I can't speak for whether the de-sulfation circuit actually does anything but I've had the non-aviation version of the Battery Minder 12248 (2/4/8 amp) for the better part of 15 years. I don't know about the low end Battery Minders like the one in OP but mine has a temperature probe that you can mount near the battery so that it can adjust the charging voltage depending on ambient temperature (colder weather = higher voltage, warmer weather = lower voltage). I'm pretty sure Battery Tender is not temperature-compensated.
I also have a CTEK MXS-5.0 that I like pretty well as well.

Not sure if these TC models are the same, but my guess is that they are. The newer models that use a more modern power supply weigh 6 oz at the plug.
Do NOT use these on any lithium battery though. The desulfation mode will kill the battery.
