Agreed. PF membership for 3 years for 2 people would have been the same cost of building my home gym with power rack and various bumper weight deals off SD. I hated having to fight and wait in line for free weight equipment. Just seemed like I was wasting so much time.

Having a gym in the next room over is pretty sweet. Save countless hours vs commuting to the local gym and having to share equipment during a pandemic

If I had to drive to my local Planet Fitness 3 times a week, it would cost me at least $24 in gas and a couple hours+ of my time. It's great if it suits you but for some it's just not worth it. Even with their cheap memberships.

Wow, nice find.

I may have to look into getting a membership if there are any sign up deals going on.

A bit too late for me. I wanted a 2nd pair of adjustable dumbbells (I currently have have the Core Fitness Adjustable Dumbbell Weight Set [corehomefitness.com]) up to January but now that I've integrated Fat Gripz into my dumbbell exercises my regular plain adjustable dumbbell handles with weight plates & Lock-Jaw collars are seeing far more work.

For those who may complain about the price: you can't beat the footprint reduction these offer vs. a full conventional or even standalone dumbbell handles + weight plates.

I still upvoted though, because Bowflex is rarely on sale and 25% off is a sizable discount.

I've had these for almost 10 years and they're bullet proof. Shop around on FB marketplace and craigslist for deals on the really convenient matching stand, I got mine NIB for $75.

Excellent price. Though I'd be weary of used ones. They lock up after long periods of no use.

Curious about your experience with the Core Fitness dumbbells. I've been deliberating between those, the powerblocks and the bowflex 552s. I like the aesthetic of the Core Fitness ones the most, and they seem to be the most compact and easiest to handle compared to the other 2. Wondering if either of those things are true, in your experience, and which set you'd recommend and why.

I referenced the STANDS to hold them.

I've used both and I would say the core fitness ones are more compact but seem a bit fragile. The Bowflex ones seem better built but are very wide. The core fitness ones vary in width according to the weight, but the Bowflex ones are always 17" long, vs maximum 14.5 inches for the core. Only used the Bowflex ones a few times, but thought they felt sturdier than the core.

For the reasons you mentioned, at MSRP the Core Fitness (CF) is definitely the better set unless you really need the extra 2.5 lb from the Bowflex, you need the Bowflex brand, or you can deal with the Bowflex's greater length (which gives you less space for some exercises, especially if you have a slim body). I've had mine since last May. The CF's handles are super comfy and eliminate most of the palm friction discomfort you get with traditional dumbbells.

My only complaint about the CF is the fit between the plates and the stand is tight, and so at higher weights (40 lb and above) you often have to manually separate the stand from the dumbbell when you try to pick it up. I mitigate this by storing the stand about thigh height off the ground so I don't injure myself doing the separation.

Aside from that, it's been a fantastic purchase.

I'll take your word for it, but it sounds like the used ones on your end may have been dropped or had something fall on them. Either of those can easily damage any adjustable dumbbell set. You don't stand up well to being tossed around like regular dumbbells. Even a simple fall from a weight bench can do 'em in. If you're gonna get 'em, you're gonna have to be careful with them.

Choose the store pickup option to see the discount. It's full price when you choose shipping.

Check Valpak and Groupon around wintertime.
