I don't know if it would work on other platforms.
The purpose is simply to host multiple nvme drives on board that support pcie bifurcation.
P.S. pcie bifurcation is supported on many x570 boards primary x16 slot

don't need to be the fastest but just ability to add 4x m.2 nvme drives to the system.
And no, only works with m.2 with supported Mobo.
My OS is already on an onboard m.2 slot storage.
asus supports it on MOST of their motherboards, however, a lot of asus boards will limit you to 2-3 SSDs with this card. very few will support 4.
this card doesn't actually have a controller on it. all it does it split a single x16 lane into four 4x lanes.
