Might as well just buy a car seat from buybuybaby and use their 20% off coupon all day long. Buybuybaby also have a stackable promo running currently on car seats…$25 reward if you spend $100, $50 reward if you spend $200, etc.

Edit: the additional MyFund reward promo ended 2 days ago. The same promo comes back every month or two from what I've seen so far.

I would assume new safety regulations and plastic deterioration are some reasons...also....I'm sure there is some greed weaved in there as well

Man just go inside target and scan the damn barcode. Mine had it right next to customer service on the car seat box. SHE LITERALLY DID IT FOR ME! Asked for my phone and handled business as if I would have asked her too many damn questions when exchanging mine.

Don't be lazy. I'm sure Target's employees are not going to escort you off the premises for this damn barcode scan. If you're in true need of the coupon then go handle business.

Ended up grabbing a couple of Graco boosters for $20 a piece last night. At least at my store, the barcode/sign for the 20% off carseat return program is both at the car seat drop-off location as well as in one of the aisles in the baby section (so if it wasn't already blatantly obvious from this thread, it's pretty clear in store if you're keen enough that you don't need to return a carseat to get the 20% coupon haha). I ended up buying one booster then went out to the car to swap it out with the old Diono carseat (good riddance btw, that thing was heavy and just such a pain to deal with... the straps weren't easy to adjust probably due to the age of it). My wife and I were in the parking lot deliberating whether or not to get another booster for the other car, so we did (for the 2nd use of the 20% coupon). We currently have a Cosco seat in that one so will probably replace it with another booster so we're not having to swap between cars all the time. Eventually our daughter will need to be in one anyway. You know it's legit parenthood when graduating from a carseat to booster is like a huge burden lifted off your back....and now we can easily use the 3rd row seating in our CX9 without having to climb through the trunk...SCORE! lol

Just to keep yourself safe legally, check your state laws. My child met the booster requirements but wasn't 4 yet. We weren't going to booster the kid up until 5 anyways, BUT also didn't know our state had such requirements.

Keep your child safe and keep yourself away from those tickets Smilie

Any suggestions for a good car seat + stroller combo? Do people usually. go for the traveller systems that allow you to click-on the car seat onto the stroller and back into the car (saves the hassle of waking up LO while moving to and fro from the stroller)? Don't see 4-1 in systems with stroller here.

Or do people just buy a good 4-in-1 car seat and buy a stroller separately? Are there adapters that one can use to regain the click-on functionality?

New, overwhelmed parent here with baby on the way soon.

Wow, thanks for pointing this out! I'm in CA and it seems like it's not super strict, surprisingly:

"Children under 2 years of age shall ride in a rear-facing car seat unless the child weighs 40 or more pounds OR is 40 or more inches tall. The child shall be secured in a manner that complies with the height and weight limits specified by the manufacturer of the car seat. (California Vehicle Code Section 27360.)
Children under the age of 8 must be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat.
Children who are 8 years of age OR have reached 4'9" in height may be secured by a booster seat, but at a minimum must be secured by a safety belt. (California Vehicle Code Section 27363.)"

Of course, the rule of thumb is to go with whatever is safest until the child can't fit. On the flipside, the Diono we I had I feel like we were compromising the safety of our kids when they would sit in it due to the age of it. I suppose could have bought another combo/all-in-one or a standard (non-backless) booster... ugh, having second thoughts now.

Congratulations!
Most of the Travel systems that i saw only include the Infant Car Seat.
Those usually are good for babies uptoo 1 year of age all depending on the weight and height of your child.
These Infant car seats can snap on and off from the car to your stroller and vice versa without removing your baby from the car seat.
Once your baby outgrows the infant car seat you will need another car seat that will more or less be permanently strapped in your car (this car seat depending on which one you select can last you uptoo 10 years).
BUT the stroller from the Travel system will still be usable for you even after your baby grows out of the "infant car seat".
Mine is about to grow out of the infant car seat.
and have decided to get https://www.target.com/p/graco-extend2fit-3-in-1-convertible-car-seat-with-anti-rebound-bar---polly-... [target.com]

This is a link to the barcode. Someone can embed it
So I scanned it, went to the Baby section in the target app, how do I turn it into a 20% off coupon?

Nevermind, got it.
