I'll summarize my post from the last time there was a deal for this. If you played the original and liked it then just get this and you won't be disappointed. The mechanics are there and work much better than when using the stylus on the DS, also the music is great once again and the graphics are improved but art style remains true to the original so It's not like going from SD to HD but snappiness and frame rate is great. However, I really don't like any of the characters. And the character I didn't like the most in the original returns in the sequel but I'm overlooking it. Lots and lots and lots of dialogue, do you think there's a lot of dialogue in the original? Be prepared for 10 times as much, and even more instances of going to a different area which prompts a "cut scene" filled with dialogue. Sprinkle in the fact that there's more characters to use in this version and yeah it turns into much more of a visual novel kind of game, but I think most people who like the original would like that anyway. They added a lot more interactivity and menu options with this one too, some interesting concepts and abilities that work for the game and make it a little more polished than the original. The story is, well I won't talk about the story much but it's still Shibuya so you'll recognize almost all of the places you can go, plus all of the same brands have returned and some of the pins/brands as well although there's a lot more pins around in this game. It's fine though, If you liked battling noise and enjoy a challenge where you can customize the difficulty level by leveling yourself down then you'll appreciate this. So to summarize my summarized post, great mechanics, lots of talking, and a whole bunch of things to do to keep you busy in this game for quite a bit. I'm actually still playing it after four months although I'm close to the end at this point I just can't devote much time in one sitting.

If this is a "summary" then imagine the full thing!
Enjoyable for anyone not familiar with the original?
Yeah, I don't think you benefit from knowing any background. It's just a typical "cool teens trapped in an augmented reality video game" anime story anyway. Buy it because you want the unique combat or because you want to feel like what it's like to be a cool rich teen walking around Japanese Manhattan.
