My point is that it's not at all impossible to include two sodimm slots in a 14 in ulltralightweight at all. I've rather they ship me a laptop with two sodimm and include no ram at all for say $50 less than shipping me this thing with 16GB soldered. And btw, lenovo is notorious for doing this with their non gaming laptops.

The problem I have with the original statement I quoted is the word "reasonable". I just don't think that's a fair statement to expect expandable memory to be reasonable in ANY laptop these days. It's definitely a minority of laptops these days especially 14" or less and under $500.
Of course, you would rather them sell you a laptop with no memory and you put it in yourself, because it would be cheaper for you, but it's not cheaper for the company. Heck, why not do that to video cards, processors, displays, keyboards, hard drives, wifi cards like in desktops? If they did, you would upgrade your laptop much less frequently. How does that benefit the company?
