Not sure about this specifically but I have definitely heard that they're not as high quality as the ThinkPad series. But that's to be expected at this price. A quick google search shows that hinge issues do seem to be more common on ideapads.

I can confirm the Ideapads have hinge issues. While I love my 330S, the build quality is severely lacking. My laptop lives it's life on my bed, and the bottom case has cracks at every corner, and even one corner a big chunk is missing. I also discovered the upper case has a crack by the power button, which apparently isn't an isolated issue. My laptop is about 3 yrs old now and I've been thinking about replacing it. Figured I would just get an empty case off of eBay so I could resale it, but there really are none. Which leads me to believe that the majority of these Ideapad owners are experiencing the same problems.

I bit on the deal. Not a fan of the RAM being soldered but it's ddr4 with 16gb so that should be sufficient for its lifetime. My concerns are more weight and longevity. Not using it to game so integrated graphics are fine, mostly music editing and daily tasks. Should be great.
