$50/year constitutes "paying a lot?" I only shop there 4-5 times a year and I easily make my $50 back. 8 out of every 10 deals I see on SD are not of much interest to me. Guess what? I scroll on to something else, rather than whining in the thread about it.

This is the Costco I know and love - an 11.67 lb bucket of honey

If you live or work nearby and just take advantage of their classic loss items like the 1.50$ hot dog and soda with free refills or 5$ whole rotisserie chicken it will mostly pay for itself or more if you shop smart or even more if there's a Business Costco nearby, that's where the real bulk deals are and they're open to regular members nothing extra needed.

The last time I had a use for 12 lbs of honey was in Bangkok.

Worked at a bulk tea and tea supply distribution warehouse, obviously.

It's so weird to have so many threads on the front page about Costco today. Feels like it's becoming the Costco forum.

I get that people like to shop there, but not everyone is a member. Their membership is pretty expensive for what it is and many stores may not be conveniently located for people to even consider shopping there regularly.

Is it really a SD when you have to sign up and pay alot to get the sale price?

It seems kind of like the YMMV threads which were dominating the forum awhile back but thankfully have kind of died down. Didn't bring much value to the forum.
You can easily filter out the content you'd like to see. Costco is one of the largest merchants lol.

And if you noticed, we're doing annoying tables now that scroll half a mile long in order to insert affiliate link referrals to include all deals, not just the good ones.

There are some Costcos relatively near me that have gas stations (I'm in NorCal). Their gas sometimes/recently is 50c-$1 PER GALLON cheaper than other gas around! That's why they have long lines for gas. But if you go early in the morning or at odd times, the lines aren't that bad. With that alone, you can make up your membership in a few short months. Usually it's maybe only 10c-30c per gallon cheaper, but with the crazy gas prices lately, it has really widened the savings gap.

Buy prime beef and whiskey once and it's paid for.

I don't even think it's that great of a deal. The 5 pounder of the Kirkland brand is $13-14, and it's legit honey.

Most of the people i know who shop at costco don't pay for membership. If you're an executive member and spend $6,000/year there then you get your $120 membership back. $3,000 if you use the credit card. If you just buy gas there and nothing else you're more than half way there.

Unless i'm traveling, i don't buy gas anywhere else.

Costco's membership is expensive? LMAO You can easily save that and more without much effort. You know you CAN shop on Costco.com too. They have many deals on there too if you're not close to a store. Even then, if you are taking a road trip you m might run into a costco and could use their gas which is almost always the cheapest around.

In all fairness you don't need a Costco membership to buy their hot dogs, pizzas, etc.
