Admittedly that would be very gross…but…seems a very odd comment
I bought this same deal a month or two ago. The robot has tons of features and great reviews. One thing to flag is that the mopping functionality is just okay. You're basically just having it drag a wet rag around your floor. You aren't supposed to add any cleaning products to the water reservoir in it.

And the water reservoir takes up a lot of space so it actually has a lot less space for the dust/junk it vacuums up and so needs to be emptied more often than a robot that lacks mopping functionality.

Features are second-to-none, though. Especially for the price. But if you're on the fence about mopping, it does have some tradeoffs.
You might prefer a canister vacuum with a nozzle because this ain't that kind of robot.

Mopping works great as long as you aren't expecting a job in the same league as a manual mopping job. You run the mop 3x in a room and only the crustiest stuff will remain. You can spray some of the more disgusting spots beforehand to soften them up/disinfect, rarely do I do that. Firmware is constantly updated with new and useful features. Battery is alright, kind of mediocre on carpet floors. Charging is slow. Gets stuck here and there like any other robot, it is not immune to that by any means. Brushes get stuck on carpet for no reason and have to manually start it again. Dustbin is tiny and doesn't always fill all the way making it even tinier. Reminders to change parts is pretty annoying. Good unit overall.

The mopping function on the roborocks only prolong the time between manual mopping, and not by much nor long

If you are expecting this to replace mopping altogether be prepared for disappointment.

For those that are new to a vacuums that mop, expectations need to be adjusted. Note only water in the tank (no chemicals). So the mopping feature is more dusting with a wet rag versus mopping or cleaning. It removes footprints on shiny floors but it doesn't clean stains or things that need scrubbing pressure or cleaning liquids. My first floor is fairly large and I change the mopping cloth a couple times when it "dusts." Does it replace mopping? No. Can it decrease the how often you mop? Yes. So for those think they no longer need to mop, you will be disappointed.

I already have a S5 Max from the last sale, I ordered an S6 for another floor in my house.
It recharges faster, is quieter and seems to run a little longer. I don't really use the mop so much.

Thinking to get E4 ? Already ordered E5 from Amazon. Any recommendations if it's equivalent to go with E4 for normal use of cleaning on hardwood and carpet?

Which one has that?
most of new models come with auto empty bins

ECOVACS Deebot N8 Pro+
Roborock S7+
AIRROBO T10+
ihome https://www.amazon.com/iHome-Auto...4322&psc=1 (cheapest)
etc etc

basically, the min requirement for robot vacuum in 2022 should be

1. laser navigation
2. auto empty bin

better if you can get
1. obstacle avoidence
2. auto refill mop water and cleaning

This is the best description of the mopping function I have read anywhere. It should be a mandatory "sticky in the wiki" for every S5 Max thread going forward.

I recently bought S6 MaxV from ebay refurbished. I received the unit in a good condition except there were water marks on and around the water reservoir. It was clearly used for 1-2 times. However, I didn't see any disgusting marks. Your experience may vary.

There is one design oversight I noticed with S6 MaxV. Its brush stops rolling on the carpeted area. It spins every 30 seconds or so which lasts for only 3-4 seconds. Due to that the carpets are not cleaned to the level of a dedicated vacuum cleaner. Users are left wanting. I looked online and found it to be a common issue with this model. There isn't a firmware fix or even an acknowledgement from the Roborock support.

This is my first Roborock device. I heard that the models prior to this were better in this regard.

The robot works really well except for the above issue, t. Object avoidance is a mixed bag but works most of the time.
After doing some research, it sounds like the issue is dependent on what type of carpet your have. Homes with higher or more plush carpets create more friction and it does that to prevent the motor from burning out. Homes with low carpet or thinner rugs havent reported the issue.

For what it's worth, I have the regular S6 in a house with mixed tile and low carpet, and mine has been working/spinning for almost 2 years now.

Wow I didn't know there is so much information about the vacuums. I recently purchased the E4 because it was on sale, but my apartment isn't square, has lots of tables/couches/chairs... On my first day I was amazed that the thing even knew how to get back to the dock. After a week now, I'm starting to see that it just isn't smart enough to map out all the irregular objects and the odd layout and starts getting lost.

The mop function - haven't used it yet on the E4 and I have a feeling I won't use it at all. I'll probably end up returning it and getting one of these refurbs.

So any opinions on S5 Max vs S6 Pure vs S6 vac /mop?

We have 2 dogs, they frequently do back and forth from backyard & leaves lot of paw prints and grass in. This vaccum has been savior!!
Removes footprints and picks up dead grass just fine. We just do manual mop once a week since we got this.
Not so great on carpet but great for hardwood floors.

I bought this last time and bought the Wyze vacuum to compare. Sent Wyze back. Pretty happy with the S5Max thus far. The mopping and app were decidedly in the Roborock's favor.

Do you have it working with the Roborock App? Or just the Mi Home app? We have the S5, and I love it, but it seems to be the inky one not supported in the Roborock app, so I can't get it working with Alexa.

Anyone know how to get this to work with Alexa? We have it and to use Alexa you have to use the Roborock app, which this one doesn't seem to be conpatable with. Only the Mi Home app.

I can confirm this works in Roborock app. Maybe only the non-Max version is not supported.

I think I paid like 280 last time for the S5 max. Yes it was refurbished right from Roborock. Seemed like new to me.
