Define warm? You probably still need layers with this. It isn't meant for riding cold chair lifts and cruising blue/green runs while wearing a t-shirt underneath.

But lots of people ski in a plain uninsulated shell--this is warmer than that. 60-80g insulation like this jacket has is the kind of insulation where you'd probably still want a light fleece underneath in the 20s. If you are being very active (skinning, skiing really hard, etc.), you might actually start to get too warm in this jacket and would need to drop down to just a base layer underneath.

Personally, 80g is not enough for me in Vermont and Quebec during those months. With a 200-250 merino baselayer and a fleece, probably.

What makes these ski jackets other than the fluorescent color?

Not a skier, but do frequently look at jackets for both our embroidery/print company as well as for my tow company where we oftentimes have to do recovery work in blizzards.

Some things I can note of difference compared to regular windbreakers/jackets that I normally give to my guys:

Extended collar to protect the face

Adjustable armpits, maybe for better range of mobility with ski poles?

Adjustable cuffs

Price is too out of the ballpark for me, but I was interested so took a look, skiing is very popular at a town nearby (Park City, UT) but most everyone I know is of the hunter breed.

I don't know if I am just unlucky, but my HH jacket inner layer started to peel off just sitting in closet unused after 5yrs. Submit warranty claim but got rejected even with their life time warranty. Yes 5 yrs is a long time but I paid hundreds for it and only used several time. I switch to another brand that I know will stand behind their product even after 10yrs.

I used issued HH gear when working at a ski resort, and it was nice. My personal jacket and pants are over 12 yrs old now, need replacement desperately. In 4 1, just need some pants on sale now!
