I own a Dell Inspiron 15.6" FHD with i3 10th gen -- i3-1005G1 Processor.....That is very similar to this >>>>>>Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Laptop: Intel Core i5-1135G7, 15.6" 1080p Touchscreen, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Iris Xe, Win 11 $449.99

My Dell laptop works well. My problem is the anti-glare aka matte screen. It looks washed out especially for text. It needs more nits of brightness to power through the matte. Any laptop you buy, try to get the lowdown on the nits. I have an HP 17.3" laptop that has HD+ resolution of 1600 x 900. The screen is not anti-glare and is called Brightview by HP. I prefer this to my Dell with FHD.

I am not a fan of anti-glare laptop displays, but it seems that more and more manufacturers are coming out with them. If you buy an HP laptop that has an IPS screen, look for one with 300 nits instead of 250 nits and pay attention to what the NTSC score is. It might be 45%. It might be 100%. It might be something in between.

How good is the integrated graphics? Can it manage AAA games like Forza Horizon 5?

I bought this exact one 2 months ago for a cousin to use for school work. Not sure if it's win 11, but it's slower than a Warlmart brand Ryzen 5 with win10.

Everyone talking about Lenovo hinge issues scares me, but I have not researched that by model. Someone else should chime in.

No Xe is not going to cut it.

The Xe version is closer to like a Nvidia 1030 maybe. Xe is better than the other Intel UHD 600/700 level but definitely not near as good as a discrete GPU

I bought 2 last month at $480. Not sure if Costco would adjust the price.
So far, they both are working great for school and surfing the net. Touch screen is nice.
The hinges are weak.

I have this version from Dell and it's been flawless these past 6-7 years, except nw the keyboard is giving me problems. That said, the screen is basic and does not compare in any way to full HD.
Can anyone recommend a refurbished laptop at the $250 range? I'm semi-retired and just don't need all the power/memory of the new ones. Thanks

Is the weight actually 6 lbs? That is very heavy for a non-gaming laptop. I would go with the 3lb 14" touchscreen Lenovo from Microcenter for $520 shipped. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...toreid=029

I played BF5 on a dell 5310 with xe graphics. The game put itself on medium settings and it did ok. I'm not a competitive gamer though just casually play story modes.
