A lot of negative reviews when you sort by most recent. Defies the total rating. Interesting.

The Stronger By Science podcast had a recent episode that discussed some of the science of protein digestion and timing for athletes. Casein is only slightly slower digesting than whey. Other sources of protein like egg are much slower comparatively. Studies also seem to suggest that protein timing doesn't matter much at all, only total protein seems to be important (as long as you are getting a few luceine spikes per day).

The whey protein industry has doubled their prices compared to last year. So now Im only drinking protein shake after a workout and thats it. Only on workout days, 1 shake.

Will get the rest of my protein needs from real food such as whole milk, eggs, beans and meats. For years they threw whey down the toilet as a waste product of the cheese manufacturing process and then used clever marketing to hype it up as a "superior source" of protein.
You're better off getting your protein from a variety of "real" foods anyway, as long as the real food is from healthy sources (i.e. not junk food), and is prepared in a healthy way.

Problem is that real food is expensive as hell now too. And is often less convenient than a shake.

I found the bad taste comment odd as well. I loved it. Much better tasting than my protein.
Same here. I've got 2 jugs of it. No complaints on taste, and it mixes well.

What's the price/gm protein on the meats you buy?

Hmm... it seems like a decent price. I can probably mix the vanilla in with overnight oats, or something if it ends up tasting too bad. Seems like a good price in the current market. I'll go for it.

Also, if yo ulive near an Aldi, they've got a pretty decent option for protein that's cheaper than Optimum Nutrition.
