Luke-warn deal for me...
it's a decent price if you want to buy into the Insta360 modular system right now BUT... this is only $80 cheaper than the full price of the new RS version (4k lens RS bundle is $299) and probably only $60 cheaper for most people if you were to buy it from the Insta360 store since they include sales tax and free shipping via DHL or FedEx.

Here's what you're giving up for that savings, i.e. why you might want to pay a bit more for the RS version:
- Better battery, 20% bigger battery
- Better, redesigned cage
- Better, bigger sensor in the 4k module (6k widescreen mode and other advantages... see reviews)
- Better, faster processor in the "brain" module, which apparently makes even the older lenses work better and faster.... note that the up-to-date processor means it will probably be supported longer for software updates and new features.

For me it's not worth the $60 savings over buying the RS from insta360 with tax in CA, but hey, if you need a decent action camera on the cheap right now, it's certainly not a bad deal either.

I got the insta360 go 2 on the last adorama deal for $200 and have been incredibly impressed. I feel like the app can do more than the gopro or dji app and they really focus on lessons and tips to do more with the camera. I'm really debating getting this to add to my arsenal of action cams.

Can you buy the 360 cam separately for this or do you have to buy the whole kit? I'd like to get this then add the 360 to have an awesome all around action cam

Applause Great summary of the differences. I read a handful of reviews and comparisons and basically came to the same conclusion. I think this at 199 would be more of a real consideration as some of the improvements on the RS may not matter to people but once you factor tax and everything else, this is too close to the better RS model if you really want to get serious.

Action can newb, it looks like this would do 360 on a selfie stick, do you have to use their selfie stick to make invisible or the software will make any stick invisible? Looking for 360 rollerblading videos to make. Any help appreciated.

This package comes with just the standard lens component, similar to a go-pro. They sell a separate package of this camera that includes a 360 lens you could need.

They also have a camera called the Insta360 One X that is just a 360 camera as well.

Yes you can. they have it in their website. Hard to find a good used one though.

Despite what you were told, you won't be able to find anyone with the 360 mod lens/camera. Insta360 was always "sold out". It is now showing on B&H as discontinued.

I suspect this is why the 4K version is discounted.. because Insta360 is dumping their stock of the One R version and stocking only the One RS version.

It won't do 360 video as this only includes the 4K module, not the 360 module. Any selfie stick will not show up in the 360 video as the stick is right on the stitch line of the 360 camera. Basically there is a small gap in the video from lens to lens, the selfie stick is in the gap and the software pulls together the two videos.

Had the insta360 for a year now and it's amazing. Probably will just update the core to the RS and sell the old one
