Probably gonna either get this or go for a Fireboard. It's a lot of money to spend on a thermometer, but the less expensive WiFi connected ones are a headache mostly.

My Inkbird looses connectivity all the time. Was wondering if this is worth the price and difference between this and Fireboard. Also looking at purchasing a Recteq 700 and wondered if this was even needed. This never goes on sale like the thermometers do, so this is really a good deal and probably going to end Monday.

Yes, this is significantly better than the Inkbird by internet consensus. Based on what I've read, Fireboard probably is a bit better, but I would recommend reading up on both and understanding the differences.

Personally I'm probably gonna go Fireboard for the following reasons:
> Notably battery
> Possibility of running 6 probes at once
> Seemingly slightly better app experience / cook tracking
> Live cooks that others can follow, if you're into that

The things I still need to understand a bit better are
> Waterproofing
> Drive fan compatibility
> Drive fan powering (I think either the Signals or the Fireboard can actually power the fan themselves, while the other one needs a plug - either way I suppose you're probably not going to get a full cook off of one battery charge if you're cooking for a longer time.)

There's at least one very good video on YouTube comparing both the Signals and Fireboard 2, and I believe there are a few good forum threads across the web that dig into the differences. I'd recommend reading up, because obviously these aren't cheap. I do think they're worth the price though if you're someone who is finicky enough to notice and appreciate the superior features and usability that Signals and Fireboard 2 offer.

Either way, I'm probably going to wait til BF this year -- hopefully FB will run a sale, but I guess I'm not gonna hold my breath, because they basically never put their stuff on sale it seems.

I have a signals with a billows fan - the fan does not run if the it's not plugged into an outlet (or a power bank that has enough amperage)

The app is more stable on iOS compared to Android for me

Nice healthy discount. But the battery life is atrocious if you're not using the fan (i.e. it's not plugged into an outlet).
