So it seems the S22 128gb is a good deal compared to preorder price at SD thread below.

I also checked on a trade-in of an iPhone 11 and it it shows $320. I really don't need the phone service, but if I need to pay four months service and don't use any data it should cost approximately 100 bucks including taxes I'm guessing.

Decisions decisions…

Good deal but not a fan of Fi. I'd rather use other mvno like red pocket.

The phone should be unlocked already out of the box, but you have to meet the 120 days of service requirement or they'll charge you for the phone discount.

Thinking about getting this as a back up phone. What's the lowest monthly fee I can get this for?

NVM.

That seems like a non-starter if you just want to get this for the phone. Unless you want to jump through a ton of hoops porting your number back and forth, having to start up new service on your old account again, etc. Unless I'm missing something about being able to get the discount with a new number or something.

You don't port your real number over into fi. You either get a trial Sim from an mvno and port that number or buy a number off the bay to port. It's disposable so it doesn't matter. You're not going to be using fi service anyway. At this point you should also have your real number ported into Google voice to take advantage of any promotional offers from any of the mvno's like mint to which you simply forward your Google voice number calls to your disposable number gotten from the mvno carrier. That is how you take advantage of every single deal that comes along for phone service while keeping your real number safe.

Been doing this for almost a decade now.. it's amazing to me that people still don't understand how easy it is...
