And i am not taking about putting fi sim in another phone. I am just talking about removing fi sim and using another sim in the phone. Fi is in drawer.

She said removing for less than a day is fine but using the SIM on another device is reactivating the FI which may trigger losing the promotion.
Note that there is no eSiM support for S22 from MVNO's but looks like TMO/ATT/VzW seem to have the support. I wanted to get a eSiM from one of the MVNO's but could not find one that supports ESiM
If you remove the SIM would FI not register you as inactive ? Does that not trigger you as not using FI for the duration or is it you opted to be on Airplane mode.
Also removing the FI account or dropping that google account will cause reactivation of the FI - not sure if this will make the credit not applicable

Edit: I hope folks are not impulsively downvoting. Look at the past deals for S20/S21 and see how prices dropped after a few months of release. I see Fi has dropped prices for group plans of 4+, which is good though it still has taxes. Unless you are interested in Fi, joining Fi just for the phone is not a good deal as the requirement is more stringent and now requires 120-days of service instead of 90-days.
I have a floater that I move around between Visible, TW, Fi, etc for cheap phone deals. So, the above is not a troll comment, but from experience. Just saying!
I'm guessing you could take the fi sim out and use your real sim, but make sure you pop the fi sim in the phone once or twice a month to register on the fi network to meet promo requirements.
My question is - I saw posts here that said you can take the SiM out and stow away. Well in that case when you use the phone with another SIM, would FI app barf and say hey invalid and will that not flag. There must be some sort of a heart beat to check if you are using the SIM.
