I did a chat and then Tweeted at the Fi team a few days ago to ask about the delivery date changes, and I got an email today from a "higher level specialist" who said that "Samsung is only shipping limited amounts of S22s, which has caused unexpected shipping delays". She said they "updated the Fi website so that customers are advised of the delays" but I didn't see anything to indicate shipping delays.

So far my order is still showing "delivered by May 18-20", crossing my fingers for no more changes.

Ordered (S22 128GB White) 5/5, ETA 5/20-5/22

Will plan to port GV #, and will try to use the Amex credits

Theoretically that would price the phone at:
$300 + tax (23 for me) = 323
$25 x 4 (4 months' service) = 100
$3 GV
-25x3 (Amex discounts)
----------------------------------------------
~$351

If all works out, not a bad price for an unlocked flagshi# that'll probably net 400-500 on trade-in for S23

For those looking to use the eSIM card on these phones for your primary service, be forewarned, it might not be straight forward. Verizon/Samsung are being horrible about it.

Verizon can't find the IMEI number in their system. Samsung basically said "Hey, eSIM isn't fully supported right now. Try next quarter."

Theoretically Verizon says they're going to take care of it, but it's been a royal pain in the ass.

I am within the return time period now and haven't activated the Fi service. If I return it now and later decide to buy a phone through this $500 offer with the same number which I use currently, will I get the same deal or after a month or so I will be charged for the $500 extra?

Now I need to sell my s10+ . trade in was shitty otherwise I would have done that

If you do not port/activate the number and return the phone then you need to contact FI customer service to remove you from the existing customer list and then you qualify for $500 instant discount.

exactly what i am planning to do. will see how it goes next week. wonder if i can do the Verizon esim setup before activating on Fi? does the phone need to opened/turned on to activate Fi or is it something that can be done online entirely?

My understanding is that you have to run the Fi app on the phone to activate the line.

Received my phone today (Green, 256gb). After doing the initial phone/samsung setup, got a push notification prompt to finish setting up my Google Fi account in the Fi app. I'm using a Google Voice number, and it was able to finish porting over in a few minutes.

I haven't been billed yet for the start of service, does that happen at the end of the month? EDIT: Got a welcome email that says I'll be billed for the month in 1-2 days.

When did you place your order, and what was the estimated delivery date?

Google FI setup took minutes. It was VERY simple. That's probably because it's on the standard, physical SIM card.

The problem comes when programming the ESIM card with Verizon. I'm not sure who exactly is at fault, but it's shared between Samsung and Verizon. It seems to be more of a Verizon problem than Samsung, but Samsung are impossible to work with too, so I'm not letting them off easily.

Long story short, if your ESIM card IMEI number is in the system (whatever that means) you can setup your phone from your home in a matter of a few minutes. If your IMEI number isn't in the system, it takes 1-5 days to resolve, if at all. I started the process on Thursday evening and I'm hoping on Monday it will be resolved.

I just inserted my AT&T sim and put the Fi sim in my drawer. I got a message saying that the phone needs to restart to make configurations for the new SIM.
Never seen something like that before - is this something that Google puts on the phones? Worried if they are able to find out that another sim is in the phone and not the Fi.
