Just last month rtx 3080 was 1400$. Now it's 1000. Same with what's happening across the board, except the RTX 3050 which makes no sense at 330, why pay 330 plus shipping so 350$ when you can get rtx 3060 for just a bit more? I should have waited Frown I made the jump the 3050 when it first launched and I had a friend get a notification on his evga elite program

Yeah… until you load up unreal engine, blender, video editing, VFX etc. Oh those programs will use all the vram you have and more. It will laugh at 12GB and wonder why you didn't bring an rtx 3090 with 24gb.

Try working with 4k video in davinci resolve while adding color correction and adding some visual effects, you'd be surprised to find out 12GB is barely enough.

I was specifically talking about a 3060 not physically being able to use 12gb due to bandwidth bottlenecks. I wasn't implying 12 gigs was overkill

I don't know, but the founders edition (FE) is $329 MSRP. It looks like this card also has the same MSRP. (see my post above)

But for other brands, the MSRP could be higher or lower. They are doing things like adding more ram or better cooling to help justify higher prices.
