Lifetime for THE COMPUTER you install this on. It's non-transferrable. (Updates are apparently included) I'm seeing regular price between $69-99.
The free updates don't include upgrades.
IOW, when Office 2024 (or whatever) comes out you don't get to upgrade to it. However, you will still receive security, bug, and critical updates to your Office 2021 for the life of the product (thru Oct 13, 2026).

Also, read the ONE COMPUTER part as something that you control. If a computer that you had this Office 2021 on dies, you are fully able to license the same Office 2021 on a new computer, provided you log into your Microsoft account and remove the old computer activation. It's a full retail license that is fully transferrable - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.

Also², If you already have (or have had) a Microsoft account tied to a subscription Microsoft product (Office365/Microsoft365) Microsoft may not allow you to use that account for perpetual products (although this isn't explained when you try to use it). Just create a new, free Microsoft account and activate it that way. You can use the key you receive for any valid email address (regardless of the email address you enter when purchasing the Office 2021 Pro).
I purchased from here in mid April. Last week my installation suddenly restricted my access as unlicensed. I called Microsoft support and they tried to help but unable to saying something to the effect this was MSDN licensed and ultimately I would have to contact the seller. I do not recommend this deal.

Anyone know of similar deal for Chromebook
You can't install Office on Chromebook. You can use the online version, though.

Wow, this reminded me of this blast of the past deal:
https://slickdeals.net/e/8355911-ms-office-2016-14-99-for-students-and-school-faculty?src=SiteSearch...

I'm still using it today. 😂. Honestly, what kind of advancements have been done in 7 years in Microsoft Office products? Like the basic ones like Word and Excel?

EDIT: If they have full dark mode Excel, I'd consider upgrading. I'm talking about black cells and white text with a click of a button. In 7 years they were able to at least improve that.... right? Do tell!
I think over the years MS has made office more bloated with features you dont care about, slower performance due to new graphics rendering (there is actually lag when I scroll a spreadsheet with a modern computer, unbelievable) and made the navigation much harder to find what you need with button and menu in all different places and sizes.

It seems like there are some confused people. This is not Office 365 that you'd pay yearly for and will always be the newest latest greatest. This is the current version of the standalone version of Office. As of the moment, they are basically the same thing. If 365 had a major update tomorrow, this would still stay the "old" version. This works fine for the majority of people, just understand what you're getting. Also as others have mentioned, this is for one PC and is non-transferable to any other PC. So it's lifetime of THAT PC, not your lifetime...assuming you don't die any time soon and you end up buying a new PC at some point, you'll still need to buy another version later (if you need/want Office).

What law is he breaking? I didn't know microsoft makes laws. If they are able to activate it on 30 machines it's Microsoft's responsibility to stop the activation.

Lol marketing. Lifetime license is the new way of saying you bought software for your computer. Every piece of software was this way until business realized, wait let's charge them monthly forever! I guess in the future the new great thing will be chraging daily, then perhaps hourly.

If it let him install it on 3 PCs then he did nothing illegal. Do you like talking down to people? Does it make you feel good? Grow up and be decent.

how is this possible, $50 for unlimited office ? So everytime they come out with a new version, you'll be grandfathered in? What's the catch?
stolen license codes

these are usually stolen keys generated through a company's corporate license. if a large company prepays for, say, a block of 1500 licenses for their employees, the price per key is really really cheap. so some sleazy IT employees will "issue" 50-100 of those keys to themselves (steal them) and then sell the keys to off-shore resellers like "Topfastkeys" who then sell the stolen keys to you

it's unlikely that the company will ever find out as a few stolen keys is a rounding error for these big fortune 500 companies and they likely won't deactivate your key even is MS finds out... but that's why there's a "warranty" because if/when they do find out, all unactivated keys in the block will get wiped.
