IOW, when Office 2024 (or whatever) comes out you don't get to upgrade to it. However, you will still receive security, bug, and critical updates to your Office 2021 for the life of the product (thru Oct 13, 2026).
Also, read the ONE COMPUTER part as something that you control. If a computer that you had this Office 2021 on dies, you are fully able to license the same Office 2021 on a new computer, provided you log into your Microsoft account and remove the old computer activation. It's a full retail license that is fully transferrable - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.
Also², If you already have (or have had) a Microsoft account tied to a subscription Microsoft product (Office365/Microsoft365) Microsoft may not allow you to use that account for perpetual products (although this isn't explained when you try to use it). Just create a new, free Microsoft account and activate it that way. You can use the key you receive for any valid email address (regardless of the email address you enter when purchasing the Office 2021 Pro).

Opened up a browser on my new Macbook Air and redeemed the key no problem. Downloaded the software and installing right now.
There's way too much paranoia and misinformation in this thread. Both vendors are valid for legit, perpetual copies of Office.
UPDATE: after the Office install, the auto-updater went ahead and found the newest patches and let me install them as well.
No one actually likes Outlook better than Google mail... It's slow and bloated. The search is one of the worst features.
OneNote is also incredibly slow and bloated, with very limited features. You can't even paste in text without formatting by adding the "shift" modifier like almost every other application does.
Next thing we know, you'll be trying to convince people that Teams is a superior chat program...
You've apparently never heard of LIbre Office either, which goes to my point of not being a power user. If you want to get serious and pull data for accounting, don't mess around with excel or access. Use real professional accounting software.

My pet peeve is paying money for something that I could just download for free. But I have gotten better... I actually purchased a few apps this past year for $2.43, jus thinking of it wants me to use drugs.

lol... where do you think the data came from in the first place?
move alone to something that you actually know about.

it's funny... she doesn't know why i asked and she keeps coming in my office ranting about yet another reason... the last one is how bad the 'track changes' functionality is in google docs versus word - and if you've worked in a corporate environment in a collaborative manner - you'd realize how important that one thing is - the document getting multiple reviews, changes, etc. i didn't mention any of the other because each one isn't necessarily huge on its own - but together it's a joke.
and regarding onenote - that's my own personal usage for tracking my personal stuff - and work stuff. not a huge deal...

Do you really think that $2.43 is getting you legitimate licenses?
